It is easily the greatest movie theater on planet Earth. Well most comfortable at least. I'm old , so play comfortable is braided higher than the movie in service. That makes it the Michael Jordan of movie theaters. The best part is the seats at home it is. And it's a freaking lazy boy which is so awesome. You get free refills, put together well in terms of I know it looks bathrooms are freaking futuristic and clean. The ex-wife, the two younger brats who had an amazing time, and myself walked to the Odyssey theatre. N watched a movie about a dude that doesn't feel pain. The birthday boy picked it. My beautiful people in Fond du Lac, nut all, stop going to the bars in the city stop giving all our money to these construction outfits that seems to get all the money the school here good use. Spend money at The Odyssey theater so they don't close down. Or maybe the Commonwealth can give them some of the money they scammed I give it to the Odyssey add the awesome community here at FDL I visited here 25 years ago and everything I love is now gone. The Mall, Pier 15, arbuckle's and the delicious bratz e that were sold at the Kwik gas stations. This place is awesome and comfortable and the seats are a freaking recliner with your feet up, lay back you have a table to put your snacks and drinks at The lazy boy has like the airplanes that have it on the armrest. They also give me the option of seating while you purchase the tickets. It's awesome don't let them close down n take those lazy boys from us. Nice kids working there too. Right away they came up to us very polite and knowledgeable. We were the only four in the theater and it was this past Friday. I'm generation x I love movie theaters and malls. And the IMAX in New York back in the day where I grew up cost an arm and a leg and your butt hurts. It was such an awesome theater The Odyssey here in Fond du Lac that I don't think I like the movie all that much, but the theater experience was awesome and then I say free refills at the seats lean back I'm better than the lazy boy we what's the steel for my dad's. Not sure the cost but I'm sure it was considerable, even divorced I'm still handing my card for payment. So maybe that was the only issue. Don't let them close. Everything is closing here. Such an awesome place the FDL. And before the Commonwealth and the Nazis Mr Lang gave it to us real good without even giving us a cigarette after they gave it to us. Scrooge McDuck Greedy Lang should give some of that money to the businesses that are hurting. Like the Odyssey so I can recline and watch a crappy movie that I'm going to love because the seats recline. I'm not trying to be funny I really don't want this place to close so what watch movies so I don't have to freaking...
Read moreI just got back from watching Mission Impossible Finale Reckoning. This was the first time I've ever stepped foot into this theater. My wife said that it was a drastic improvement from the previous condition it was in prior to the remodel. I guess that would be great in most people's opinions.
My opinion, however, is that there is a drastic difference to Marcus Theaters and not a favorable one. Upon walking into the theater, there is a sign that shows you "what to do." It's not very clear, and there are 4 kiosks right behind it. I purchased tickets online to save time, but the navigation of the kiosks and the limited information on the sign didn't save me any time. I eventually asked someone, which they really didn't know, and I'm not going to blame them either. I was directed to go to the concessions, and they processed my tickets for me. Finally, I made it to my seat.
The next thing was, out of the two seats I purchased, mine, of course, reclined, but the heater didn't work. That sucked. The theater was like any other theater and was refrigerated, so I was cold. The recliners, I was expecting to work like the other reclined seats I've used in any other theater. I was wrong. The footrest came up, and the back didn't recline. If anyone would have needed to get by me, I would have had to put my foot rest down. There wasn't any room between my feet and the half wall in front of me. There was a constant noise coming from the back of the theater. I figured it had to do with cooling, but only they would know that. The speakers were over the top. Definitely lost hearing during that movie, but the bass wasn't enough to feel it. Someone needs to tune that better. You don't need deafening volume when you can tune it correctly. The picture was pixilated. I'm not sure what we were watching it in, 8K? 4K? 1080P? 720P? It sucked. On top of that, the movie was glitching towards the end. I paid the premium price for a mediocre viewing.
I won't be coming back to this theater. I will drive the 20 miles to the...
Read moreThe remodeled theater is great! Odyssey has made good on the promise they made to fix this place up when they bought Fond du Lac’s run-down independent theater several years ago. They’ve certainly exceeded my expectations.
They completely gutted the place during the remodel and so everything except the actual building is new and state-of-the-art again. Heated and reclining seats with individual food trays, bigger screens, updated surround sound, laser projection, repaved parking lot, the bathrooms are no longer freezing cold, and the flooring is new everywhere. The lobby is a place you can hang out in with plenty of tables and seating, plus there’s a self-serve popcorn station and a self-serve beer tap wall. The refillable popcorn bucket is a great deal and will save you a lot of money over the 12 months it’s good for, especially for families who will be sharing it during a movie.
Tickets sales are handled online, on the mobile app, or at kiosks in the lobby, and you still get an actual printed ticket when you check in, which I appreciate as a ticket collector. You can also link ticket accounts and buy tickets for other people, transfer tickets to other accounts, and share rewards, a feature I’ve never seen with other theater chains. Plus the tickets are $4–5 cheaper than at other theaters for all showtimes including the discount Tuesdays which every theater seems to offer these days.
Thank you for not just making this theater worth going to again but for making it better than its local competitors,...
