We spent a couple days touring several wineries around the area and unfortunately this one was the worst experience. Even though the sign outside said "walk-ins welcome" when we walked in the staff stared us down like we'd interrupted them, and we felt anything but welcome. After taking a sear, we were told we could not do a tasting, but then some people who knew the staff person walked in a few min after us and were invited to do a tasting?? It was also very overpriced compared to other wineries nearby. The ambiance was frigid and elitist in contrast to other lovely, warm, welcoming wineries nearby like Harvest Moon and Suncé, where we had amazing experiences. We finished our glass and quickly bailed to the nicer winery next door, Red Car, because we felt so unwanted. The staff at Red Car mentioned they've regularly seen walk-ins turned away from their neighbors at DG, which like, if you don't mean it, literally don't post it on your sign. It was really unfortunate since we went out of our way to visit this place because a friend's family supplies the grapes for some of their wines, and the wine was pretty good, but against the other half dozen wineries we visited in the area, it was sadly the least...

This was my second visit. I brought my dog both times. No issues the first time. Friendly host and I enjoyed the wine during that visit which is why I decided to bring friends from out of town. We arrived separately to the patio and when my dog saw them, he squealed with excitement so we moved back to the parking area to continue our greeting. That was the only noise my dog made the entire time we were there. But the hostess felt it warranted an admonishment before even saying hello. Then she proceeded to provide us with long drawn out details of her life at every pour making it difficult for us to enjoy any conversation, much less the wines. I wish we had just walked out immediately after her "greeting".
We visited many more wineries over the weekend. All good service and exceptionally dog friendly. I wouldn't visit...
Read moreAs a long-term club member, I recently had the pleasure of attending a private Pinot Noir tasting at Dutton Goldfield, and it was an exceptional experience. It had been many years since my last visit to the tasting room, and it felt wonderful to be back. Our host, Brad, was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, providing us with a deep understanding of the Dutton Goldfield approach to winemaking. He expertly showcased the unique characteristics of the various vineyards throughout Sonoma, Anderson Valley, and Northern Marin County.
All of my guests loved the wines and the Dutton Goldfield story. The tasting room itself was intimate and inviting, making our experience even more enjoyable and informative. I highly recommend a visit to Dutton Goldfield for anyone looking to explore high-quality Pinot Noir from this family owned and...
