Review is mainly in the experience here because the food is good. My husband and I drive out of our way to try this place. We walk in with smiles happy to be there. We see 3 staff about 6 feet away, looking right at us. No one acknowledges us or says hello to great us. We wait about 60 seconds and a very sweet hostess takes us to our table. The one star is for her she was lovely. We sit down and the server walks up to us with his head in his little note taking book(not sure what it's called) we wait about 20 awkward seconds and my husband says "hello, how are you" he nods and asked what we want to drink. No pleasantries, straight to business. We order my food comes out wrong, no problem he takes it back. No "sorry about that" or "I'll take care of that right away" just takes the plate.
There was a group next to us coming to sit down. The table next to them was empty so the gentleman moved the heater (started to) closer to his people. The lady (pink coat and boots-maybe manager) puts her hand up and says "please don't move that we need that for other guests" (and points to the empty table next to them which 3 minutes later was moved) The gentleman says, oh I didn't no i was being watched. Lady comes back with attitude in the face "I wasn't watching you I was arranging tables for a group" Wow we were shocked.
The staff by there behavior and demeanor don't seem happy to be there. Accommodate for your guests (they had 2 additional heaters not being used that could have been moved) People don't just buy food they want a pleasant experience All owners and staff should be EXTREMELY Grateful for ALL guests who bring in business that pays there bills. I'm this economy it costs everyone so much so when they spend money with you be grateful. (Speaking as a business owner myself I express gratitude to everyone who supports me because with out them I don't make a living.)
Sorry for any grammar or typo errors. Not...
Read moreFirst the pros: The atmosphere was cute and very small town cafe/bistro and the patrons we spoke with while waiting for a table were all very friendly.
Now the unfortunately longer list of cons: After getting seated we (table of 4) ordered waters, after hiking from Sebastopol along the trail, and were told they were out of clean water glasses and they'd bring some to us once they were clean. Okay, not ideal but they probably had a busy morning.
We ordered our food and proceeded to wait. Our food did not take long thankfully but when it came out all 4 dishes were somehow already lukewarm and the portion sizes were disappointingly small for the price. I had 2 eggs, 3 slices of bacon, a small handful of their breakfast potatoes, about 8 pieces of assorted fruit of grape size, and a single slice of toast for nearly $20
We began eating, still with no water or alternatively offered drinks, and were over halfway done with our meal when we noticed new tables being sat had waters being brought to them. We flagged down a passing busboy and asked if he could please get us waters, as our server had not come by at all to check on us. They brought us out waters a few minutes later with no apology and we finished our meal a few minutes later.
When it came to the check we were able to get it fairly quickly thankfully but then no one came to pick it up. Which was disappointing because the patio was fairly empty at that point. I finally got up to approach our waitress to ask if I'm supposed to pay up front but she took the check and processed it.
Overall I was quite disappointed with our experience. I understand there is limited options for the locals but I hope our experience is not the norm for their sake and for other hikers hoping for a nice rest after...
Read moreWhile visiting my aunt for her 82nd birthday, whom I hadn't seen in many years, she recommended this place. I didn't expect much. Just a little place down the street, as it seems everything is in Sebastopol. Man, I was impressed. Of course, friendly staff, good ambiance, sat in the back patio area, which is one of the reasons we came. They had a muffaletta on the menu! My favorite sandwich. A sandwich I hadn't had in a long time and something me and my chefs were just discussing two days prior. They did a variation of it, not deconstructed, but an out of the box presentation. Loved it. My aunt is simple and just wanted a piece of salmon and a side of veggies that wasn't on the menu. She didn't want to make a fuss but was a little disappointed. We asked the kitchen if it was possible. They said yes, and it made her day. Her simple dish was terrific. We were both in such a great mood at the end of the meal. You guys know what you're doing and I was so happy to see a little creativity and passion in the food and ingredients. The accommodation you guys made for aunt was appreciated, and I want to say that because I know the boh doesn't hear it enough. Awesome job...
