Absolutely LOVE this place. Why? Because my dog loves this place!

She loves to run with the dogs in the enclosed area. I love the dog drinking fountain and multiple open areas.

And even more, she loves to run along the shoreline of the pond. No she won't go into the pond yet - still hoping! She has never been much of a swimmer. But she will romp along the edges (and keeps getting closer).

Yes, maybe the water could be higher locally. Even perhaps throughout Colorado. More importantly, maybe even throughout the country.

And, yes; the water could be cleaner. Want to pay for the City to filter that water? Want to pay for the dogs to play in potable (drinkable) water?

So not trying to be that person of the group - but please, come on, just give your pup a bath after playing here! Where the heck else can you take your pup for free, with this level of engagement and activity?

And... whether you are paying for rent, or for property tax, this doesn't just happen for free. You, me, all of us , we pay for it. If you love it, if you hate, if you want to expand, abandon, or tweak it - please send a note to your local representative. Social media should be about more than sharing our...

Lots of trees for shade. The dogs have a place to swim and cool off. Plenty of plants for the dogs to sniff around.

Most people who bring their dogs are responsible. The dog park is not a place to socialize your dog. That's my only complaint about dog owners.

A couple times someone brought their dogs and clearly didn't acknowledge that the dogs were stressed out. There was a dog fight between those dogs and some dogs in the park as soon as they came through the gate.

The owner of the anxious dogs started screaming at people to control their dogs. Bad experience for the dogs. Don't take aggressive or fearful dogs to a dog park, it's dangerous for all the dogs and people. They have a separate area for dogs that aren't friendly.

It's not the dogs fault, when there are fearful dogs and pack mentality kicks in it's dangerous and difficult to control the situation.

Not all dogs will get along and sometimes little fights happen. Just be responsible and respect that the park belongs to everyone.

Most people who bring their dogs keep an eye on them the best they can. It's a lot of ground and dogs wander. I follow my dog and try to keep eyes on him always.

Please be responsible for...

The dog park itself is beautiful and really well maintained. It has a section with a little pond for dogs that like to swim, which is great. However, every time I've taken my dogs to this park there have been multiple men standing around complacently while their dogs misbehave. I've had unneutered male dogs pick fights with my two fixed dogs, I've seen people in the park who won't pick up dog poop, and today someone's dog knocked me over onto the very solid ground because it wasn't being watched and was just running as fast as it could. Nobody apologized for this, even though it was very painful and I could've broken something had I fallen at a different angle. I hate to leave a bad review for the park itself because it is so nice and so fun for the dogs, but there are so many neglectful, rude people who don't watch or take responsibility for their dogs that this park isn't...

I love this park!! Just moved here and have been checking out all the off leash places for our dogs. The only thing that would make it 5 stars to me is if it had more agility features, a portion of the trail that was off leash, and some lighting for the winter months since the sun sets at 4:30!! Here's a list of what it does have: -2 huge areas with ample seating for dogs to run in, one which has water to swim in during warmer months -a watering station. This is shut off in the winter, so bring your own -a connection to a trail that leads into the foothills -a double gate for safe unleashing -2 tunnels to run through -always has a decent crowd of dogs The rest of the park also has a large wheelchair accessible playground, tennis courts, baseball fields, and lots of open green space! I could see myself spending the whole day there in the warmer months.

This park is very nice. Lots of open space and 3 separate gated off areas. One for shy dogs, one for general use and one with more trees and a pond for the dogs to play in. Lots of parking at the park even though there are lots of events like soccer games and party's at the huge park right by there which is good for a walk when you want your dog to dry off before going home. The dogs there are usually well behaved but like with any dog park it is good to be cautious until your dog is comfortable. Also don't bring your dog if you know it's going to be a problem. Open in the winter but they shut off the water and drain the pond for the winter. Only thing is the fences are about 4 foot tall. If you have a flight risk it might be better to find a park with higher fences.

Went here today with my dog Walter and two more family pups after a hike, and this place was everything a dog park should be. It’s clean, well-maintained, and has separate areas for big and small dogs which makes it super safe. There’s so much space for them to run, chase, and play—and Walter was in absolute heaven! We met friendly owners, the double gates gave us peace of mind, and the surrounding park with trails and views just adds to the charm. Easily one of our favorite places in Fort Collins. If your dog loves exploring and you love a safe, beautiful spot to unwind—Spring Canyon is the move. Highly recommend!
