This park is a gem by the Hudson River! It is huge and consists of different areas along the Hudson. There’s the boat basin area where you can launch boats, picnic areas scattered throughout, hiking trails that include riverside trails with view of New York City , snack stands and vending machines, a museum, ruins and so on. The park is partly visible from George Washington bridge but continues all along the Hudson River. I’m not sure where it ends but there are view points that offer some lovely vistas that is accessible by driving along the palisades parkway. You can also drive through the park via some entrances. One such entrance is off of the River road in Fort Lee New Jersey. There are many bikers as well. This park is very accessible by either foot, bike or car especially if you’re from New York or New Jersey. Depending on where you are it can be crowded or isolated. It’s always a joy walking through the woods or by the shore or a steep incline. During the hot days make sure to bring your water and tissue paper just in case you need to pee. 😂. It will happen. Read morePlanned on going two weeks prior but unfortunately the day I went was raining most of the day. Small trails and scenic overview were available. The hike to the Giant stairs was pretty cool even on a rainy day. But be aware, it is steep regardless of going to the Giant stairs or returning from it. Park is well maintained and easily marked so there's minimal chance of getting lost or going off the trail. Leave whatever you don't need in the car, there will be times you're using both hands to make it up or down...
