Everyone knows that a rest stop / information center serves two and only two valuable purposes to the general public: 1 a place to pee, 2 a place to sleep. Now, I gave this establishment 3/5 stars because 2.5/5 was not an option. You can park and sleep here any time night or day. You can only stop and pee here, at least in the socially acceptable sense, 12 out of 24 hours a day. I find it disheartening that the doors are locked and the bathrooms are inaccessible during night time hours. This inconvenience likely stems from the 3 to 5 % chance that if they allowed access to the restrooms at night, you would find that some poor soul had overdosed on Fentanyl or Heroin and was occupying a place in the bathroom floor. The time is now that what, as a group, as a society of modern people ask ourselves, do we want to have to piss in the bushes like cavemen simply because opening the restrooms at night creates that 3 to 5% chance that we will happen upon someone who is chilling with either God or Satan because they thought the facilties were appropriate for using their drugs in? I say we join together in unison and tell our representatives that we would rather take a chance at observing a dead drug addict over a chance at being observed by law enforcement pissing in a place or manner which would make us appear uncivilized. The truth is you could always step over the deceased and act as tho you did not notice them. Thank you for reading my review of...
Read moreIt was spacious inside and plenty of room for pets to walk, too. There were plenty of brochures to find things to do. But, most of us stop here for the restrooms so let's talk about it. This welcome facility is not really set up for handicap accessibility. The "family" restroom was filthy complete with stool ON the stool. In other words- feces on the toilet seat. Floor was wet around the toilet. Over all appearance- dirty. In the womens RR, the "large stall" contains Automatic sensor to flush toilet so people in w/c get toilet sprayed bf they can "get away". At the counter, the soap is not low enough for people in w/c. The door going in to the womens RR is too heavy and bulky to open from a w/c. This facility needs people who are willing to keep the restrooms clean. The people who design these should borrow a w/c and try using the facility from the perspective of someone short, and cannot stand. Perhaps they can make some...
Read moreGeorgia, for being a Red State that proclaims to disbelieve in the socialist practice of taxing its wealthy citizens, suffers from a State Income Tax of its own, unlike states like Tennessee, Texas, and Wyoming, which hold more true to what they profess to believe. Georgia, for its state income tax and all that extra money the government takes in, cannot seem to keep these restrooms at this public taxpayer-funded rest area open 24/7, unlike next door in Tennessee, where they have no state income tax and presumably less funds, the Tennessee rest areas all keep their restrooms open 24/7. But then, restrooms really do not require much to stay open 24/7 when all they otherwise do is send a custodian around a few times a day. So, Georgia, you're telling everyone you can't afford to keep your restrooms open 24/7 for us truckers who otherwise keep your economy...
