If you are looking for a rec to play sports with, run away from this one! Facilities are clean and well taken care of, however, the youth sports is very unorganized...not only are coaches who VOLUNTEER their time and energy not respected, they are completely disregarded by this rec....football players are half way through the season and still do not have football pants (yet, parents pay a whole fee)...players are told they cannot order them pads because they are too big (in which the coach purchased a pair)....the coach was given balls that aren't legal for the age group (coach purchased again)...football tees not provided (coach purchased again)...football socks not provided (coach purchased again)...players need mouth pieces (coach purchased again)...I have seen many recs and have never seen one so disorganized...typically, I would say well they are new and need to work the kinks out...however, that would mean effort to be put it, work to be put in, etc....that is not the case here...instead you get an email forwarded by someone else talking about it being a priveledge to coach or watch your kids play football....NO, the rec gets the benefit of having a volunteer work for a for profit recreation department..to work for them for free...Catoosa Parks and Recreation should be thankful of those people volunteering their time and thankful that parents PAY them a fee to play....so it is not the parents or coaches that benefit or are privledged...It doesnt take my Masters of Business to know you are receiving an asset every time a player signs up...it is clearly money in the bank...this rec will fall fast with the current organization and leadership it has! Run fast and far away from this place or else when their is an issue, you will be told its rec ball and a privledge for you and your child to be there...NO equipment, NO pants? It's rec ball and you have gotten the privledge to be there! Absolutely flabberghasted on how this rec is being run! Straight in...
Read moreThis park is a great venue for tournaments. Lots of room, multiple concession stands, and a nice playground inside the fences for the kids to enjoy between games.
Lots of restrooms. They could use some kind of flow management, though. There was a lot of confusion about lines and several times throughout the day I saw people just walk up and cut line into a stall that someone was walking out of.
Unfortunately, the organizers for the tournament we attended didn't do a very good job. I wish our experience had been better. But the...

The amount of cars post-games can be a bit of an issue as they enter onto Pine Grove Road and the light polution has changed the star gazing a bit, but it is a nice place to play ball, play disc golf, or to use the running path. I would like to see the are developed a little more to possibly introduce a...
