This water park has a few fun things that are worth going to, such as a wave pool with huge waves, a lazy river, and their new surf thingy(I never went on it), but after a while things get boring pretty quickly, the wave pool didn’t use to take very long to start up, but now it takes 15 minutes of starting up for about 10 minutes at best of waves, the entire water park doesn’t really have a bigger pool for adults and some teenagers, and most adults stay in the lazy river the whole time they are there, making that crowded. The little kids have an entire playground thingy with cannons that shoot water, and my little brother used to go for hours on that thing when he was little. The area next to that is a slightly bigger pool for kids and babies, they have three little floating things that kids can get on, the most popular being the Turf War Shark(that’s what I call it) where up to three kids sit on the shark while other kids try to topple them off and steal their spot, this would normally be a lot of fun if the lifeguards didn’t get on to you every five seconds. I get that they wanna protect the equipment and they don’t want other people or the kids themselves hurt, but most of the time, the closest person is at the turtle floaty thing, which is nowhere near enough to where they could get hurt. The slides are ok, half are good, the other half is bad. The orange slide is a bit tight, but very fast and fun, the blue slide is more open and has less twist and turns, but is more peaceful and slow. The bad slides are the purple slide is twisty and in a tube and you can see outside through these little strips in that go around the slide in circles, but you have to lie down on the slide or else you get in trouble, and the slide destroys your back, it hurts that bad, and the yellow slide is one of those big drop slides, but the people say that you have to lie down and you always end getting a bump on the back on your head from the end. The park is almost always crowded and lines for the slides are long most of the time. I would not recommend getting season passes for this place because of how expensive it is, but I would recommend Alma Water Park, it’s almost never crowded, all of the slides are good, there are pools for kids and adults and prices for food and season passes...
Read moreMy daughter got a pamphlet for Parrot Island Waterpark from The Shiloh Museum of Ozark History last year and it has been on the side of the fridge since. I decided that we would make the 1.5 hour drive to check it out this weekend. I was pretty hesitant because we have amazing aquatics centers very close to our home in Springdale, but it is somewhere she has wanted to go for a while. I regret spending the 70+ dollars we had to spend and take this experience as a learning lesson.
First and foremost, the ladies restroom is disguising! Both of the handicapped stalls were locked leaving a handicapped lady trying to fit into a small stall with a scooter. The bathroom reaked of urine, the walls in the shower area were covered in black mold/mildew. There were no changing tables and because of this a mother was trying to change her very small baby in a carrier. There were only two working toilets, no soap, and the floors were filthy. The toilets also had mold/mildew inside at the water line. After changing into our swimsuits, we decided to try the wave pool first, it needed a good cleaning and painting. It also seemed as if the chemical levels were off as the water left you feeling sticky. We rode one slide and then went to the lazy river. There aren’t enough floats and many of them were leaking air. We went to eat food and that was really about the only pleasant experience. After eating we just decided to leave so back to the restrooms to change. I noticed a lady with a season pass card in her hand waiting for one of the two working toilets and asked her if the restrooms were always in such horrible condition and she said yes. My family and I will not be back. We have much better facilities where we live that are much cheaper to enter. I think the health department should be called due to the condition of the facilities and Parrot Island should be ashamed of themselves for not allowing the handicapped stalls to be open to those...
Read moreUpdated or edit: so this yr 2023 we got the gold pass but didn't go as much. First we went had fun for my 3 grandchildren bday. But than got real sick the next day. The doctor says she is 99 percent sure that's where I got sick lol. Than next time my daughter went with her husband and friends and her backpack (purse) was taken we asked for security we asked for help and they helped looking for it but that was it. No report made nothing my daughter had to go drive down to the police dept and make a report. I went myself and my son n law looked in stalls of boys room me in the girls rooms and he finds it in the boys room in a locked stall that they employees stayed they had already looked in and so asked for the manager to look at the cameras but they claim the cameras was all out at that time due to the storms we had from days prior. Smh any wasn't happy about all that. Than this last time we went one of my grandsons threw up ALOT by the kiddie play area so I told the life guard so it can get cleaned up. It took along while so I asked again and finally they came to clean it up , they used a squeegee and got most into the scooper thing than they sprayed it with something that foamed up than squeegee the rest into the kiddie play water area... gross! so yeah we are done won't be going back again. No wonder why I got so sick when I went at the beginning of summer smh that's what I'm thinking.
Anything after this part is from yr prior : Love going the food is expensive guess to be expected but when we bought the pizza they didn't cut it at first than had to take it back out of box than it took too of them to cut it and than the two of them tried to scoop it up to put back in box lol didn't seem to work so they used their hands to pick up each piece and put back in the box like a puzzle smh craziest thing. They need to train better. Service kind of sucks but again I think training...
