Echo Lake — Attraction in Four Corners States

Had the opportunity to go on a guided snowshoeing expedition with REI! Amazing trails, snow was beautiful, lake was frozen over (don’t walk on the lake!). Restrooms available, lots of beautiful spots to sit and admire the nature. It was busy, as expected, especially since Mt. Blue Sky auto road is closed. I was a bit disappointed in hearing singers from a large camp down below trail I hiked to get away from crowds right at the lake. It definitely detracted from the meditative peace of walking in Nature. This is one of the best spots within an hour of Denver. Beautiful trails at very high altitude. Quiet and serene surrounded by lodgepole pines. During the hot summer months this place stays cool. There is a cool lodge next to lake that sells souvenirs and has a nice little cafe. If you continue up, you can drive all the way to the summit of Mt. Evans, which I highly recommend.
