This hike is challenging but 100% worth it and you will feel like a champion once you get to the top! Rated as moderate this hike is fairly steep and has a small bouldering experience which may push some out of their comfort zone, but it's 100% doable, especially if you were able to get up to that point in the hike. Just go slow and ask for a friend to help you if you feel unsure. Remember we grow when we are out of our comfort zone 💪! After that section, it's about 15-20min to the top and the views are 100% worth it! Take your time, water and some sunscreen and snacks and enjoy an unforgettable experience! Parking is available at the park entrance, but it costs $ 😀, restrooms (porta potty) and a place to refill water are available.

We planned to do the first and second flat iron hike while passing through Boulder on our way from Golden to Estes Park. Unfortunately, we were the day after the big September snow storm (that shouldn't be a thing). We didn't want to just sit around though, so we decided to still do the hike. It was kind of icy in the snow, but it wasn't terrible. It was pretty in the forest with all of the snow. It was very foggy, so we really couldn't see any views. We ended up turning around a little before the top because I couldn't feel my feet (my shoes were soaked and it was 30 degrees) and there were no views to see anyway. I'd love to come back to Boulder sometime and do this hike when I can enjoy the views and feel my toes!

Beautiful hike and it do get steep at some points! You will have to climb a small rock face if you want to get to the view here at the First Flatiron. My dog had no problem going up, but she's athletic so just be aware. Make sure to take a picture of the map so you don't get lost (you should still have phone signal if anything though). Parking will be an issue if you do not come before 7am. Lots of people also if you come after 7am. There are trashcans at the trailhead so dump ya trash there. Other than that, enjoy a moderate hike and enjoy the views!

This was a fun hike. The start as always is the hardest part mainly because of the steel hill but after that it’s a pretty easy hike. There is usually a good amount of hikers on this trail by mid day so it’s suggested that you start early. It’s paid parking and they will ticket you if you go over your time so I would suggest you pay for 4 hours if you don’t want to rush the hike and enjoy yourself. More than likely the hike will take 3 hours after eating lunch and enjoying yourself at the top. Overall I would suggest this hike for anyone that wants a great view and an...
