My first time that I ever made it to the grandest canyon of them all, The Grand Canyon National Park!!! The beauty of this area is so unique & out of this world! I visited this park on August/15/2021. I didn’t have enough time to explore the park and I didn’t even have my hiking boots. Although I couldn’t hike much, but it didn’t disappoint me at all. I took a long walk on the most popular trail at the South Rim, The Yayapai Point via Rim Trail near The Yayapai Lodge. It is an amazing place to set up for a wonderful view of the sunset. Parking is readily available and the Point itself is easily accessible, while most of this trail is paved. It looks out to the east and has a lot of areas ideal for sitting, relaxing and watching the sun disappear behind the red horizon. It was truly a mesmerizing view of the canyons from the Mather Point Amphitheater display deck. It is an incredible place to watch the sunset and still see such a spectacular views of The Grand Canyon landscapes! I've had the pleasure of seeing it! What a marvelous piece from the "Gods of Creation"... There really are no words that can go and describe it completely... Even pictures do not do justice to this majestic place. Everyone should consider coming here at least once in their lifetime as you won't...

Mather Point is one of the most popular and easily accessible viewpoints in Grand Canyon National Park, located on the South Rim. Named after Stephen Mather, the first director of the National Park Service, Mather Point offers breathtaking panoramic views of the canyon's vast expanse, showcasing its dramatic layers of rock, deep gorges, and the winding Colorado River below.

The viewpoint is just a short walk from the Grand Canyon Visitor Center, making it convenient for visitors of all ages. It features railings and pathways that allow for safe viewing while providing excellent photo opportunities. Sunrise and sunset are particularly magical times to visit Mather Point, as the changing light casts vibrant colors across the canyon walls, creating stunning visual displays.

In addition to the scenic views, Mather Point serves as a hub for information and access to various hiking trails that lead deeper into the canyon. It’s an ideal starting point for those looking to explore the South Rim's many attractions and natural wonders. Grand Canyon & Sedona in one day🏜️🌄 Last month we posted a 3 day itinerary that included going to the Grand Canyon and Sedona in one day. We had some people tell us that it was impossible or not worth it! But when you have limited time in the state it’s definitely worth the long day🚙 We took Lauren’s family (including a 2 year old). We knew we wanted them to see the Grand Canyon, because a lot of them have never seen it. We also wanted them to at least see some of the red rocks in Sedona. We had planned to be on the road by 6:30am, but ended up leaving later then planned lol. We were on the road by 8:00am and got to Mather Viewpoint at the Grand Canyon just before noon. We walked around, stopped at the visitor center for gifts, drove closer to Lookout Studio to see different angles of the canyon, and then ate lunch at one of the restaurants. We then headed towards Sedona. We took the 89A down to Sedona to show them one of our favorite drives. It was absolutely beautiful to see it with all of the snow! We arrived in Sedona right during golden hour and it was absolutely breathtaking. We took them to one of our favorite view points of Cathedral Rock (no hiking required). It was a long day, but so worth it for them to see different parts of the state🏜️🌄❄️ • • • • • #arizonaroadtrip #sedona #grandcanyon #arizona #visitarizona #travelarizona #sedonaaz #explorearizona

looking to explore the south rim of the Grand Canyon but don’t know where to start? here are few ideas: 🥾hike the South Kaibab Trail to OOH AAH Point. if you want to get a good taste of the canyon without hiking far, this 1.8 mile hike is relatively easy and affords some of the best views. you will need to take a shuttle from the visitors center to the trailhead. 🏜️visit a few of the many scenic overlooks: •Mather Point offers one of the most iconic viewpoints on the south rim. •Hopi point is touted as being a prime sunset watching location with its incredible vistas and view of the Colorado river. •Grandview point. as the name states, this overlook has one of the grandest views of the Grand Canyon. from here, you’ll be able to see a few prominent buttes including Rama Shine, Krishna Shrine, Vishnu Shrine and Shiva Temple. 🛕make a stop at the Desert View Watch Tower. constructed in 1932, the design was modeled after the architecture of the Ancestral Puebloan people. only the ground level is currently open to the public. 🎨 visit the historic Kolb Canyon Studio perched right on the rim of the Grand Canyon. this structure is a park icon, art gallery and bookstore in the vicinity of the Bright Angel Trail. is visiting the Grand Canyon on your bucket list? #grandcanyon #grandcanyonnationalpark #nationalparkspro #yournationalparks #explorearizona #parksproject
