My recent visit to McGinns Pistachioland was a delightful experience marked by exceptional customer service and a diverse range of quality products. The staff members were remarkably friendly, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere that made the visit enjoyable.
One of the standout features of this location is the iconic giant pistachio, which serves as a popular photo opportunity for visitors. It certainly adds charm and draws in crowds.
During our visit, we sampled their pistachio ice cream, which was nothing short of delectable. The store also offers a complimentary tasting of various pistachio flavors, enhancing the shopping experience and allowing visitors to make informed choices. This sampling led me to purchase more than I initially intended due to the delicious flavors available.
In addition to pistachios, McGinns offers a wide selection of products, including unique gifts and toys suitable for family and friends—effectively transforming the store into a vibrant gift shop.
Moreover, McGinns features a complimentary wine tasting, which encouraged us to explore their offerings further; we ended up purchasing four bottles of wine. They also provide a special promotion whereby customers receive a complimentary gift with purchases over $100, limited to selected items.
Overall, the friendly staff significantly enhances the experience, and visitors are encouraged to show their appreciation by ringing the bell on their way out. This gesture underscores the staff’s dedication to customer satisfaction. McGinns Pistachioland is truly a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a...
Read moreMcGinn's Pistachioland offers Farm Tours (Pistachios trees & Grape Vineyard), country store & ice cream shop. The farm tour needs reservation, departs at the start of every hour, lasts about 20-30 mins, as you reach the place you can walk into the store and make a reservation for your party. Each tour can accommodate up to 14 people (add 1-2 extra). They take you on a green ride around their vineyard and pistachios trees and explain their history, process, and show some samples. April - August would be the apt time to take the tour as the trees start producing for the season then. The country store has a pistachios sampler area, where they allow you to taste all their flavored pistachios and then choose to buy them. They have more than dozen flavors in there. They also sell these flavored pistachios in different quantities, also just the nut meat. Apart from the pistachios, they have dresses, magnets, toys, nut butter, salsas, cosmetics, bags, and many other items just like any other trading stores. They also have an alcohol section, serving drinks, bottled ones up for a grab, and some other items to shop as well. The ice cream shop currently sells different flavors of BLUEBELL ice cream and not the ones made from the farm. Their farm tour guide James mentioned that they are setting up their ice cream machines and planning to start the production of farms own pistachio ice cream in summer 2023. There is a giant pistachio set up, which is a good photo spot. Overall, it was a great place to spend 2-3 hrs. during your visit to White Sands National Park or Alamogordo...
Read moreOMG!!!! Going in the place, after getting the quintessential "largest pistachio in the world" photo, I saw a big sign behind the checkout register that read, "Spend over $100 and receive a free gift!" to which I thought, "Damn! Who's going to spend $100+ at a roadside attraction?" Well, it's me. and the people on either side of me in the checkout line. and the people behind/in front of those people. And we were all happy to get whatever bizarre stuff we got. Plus free stuff! A treat to experience that's beyond any you can imagine. Free wine tasting of local (mostly in-house made) wine, pistachio EVERYTHING! Free tasting on those, too. One can stand around eating them until they explode (not witnessed, however, expected), covered in chocolate or a bunch of other stuff from garlic to honey (The garlic/honey pistachios are [the] Kelly Osbourne's idea! Made when she and Ozzy and the family visited Pistachioland and roasted their own concoctions). Take the tour with Matt! He is fun and very knowledgeable, eat the ice cream or have a pistachio float - and try to get out without...
