I've been going to Dylan for many years and knew nothing about this Trail. I just happened to look it up on my mapping system and found it. My aunt and I decided to check it out and we are very pleased. It's not a very long or hard hike and you are rewarded when you finally get to the top. You have outstanding views of Lake Dillon and for a 20 to 30-minute hike up it's well worth it.

It's super crowded these days, but my dog still loves to swim there

This particular trailhead is advertised as being great for kids. As a result we saw a decent amount of families bringing their kids to this trail. We did as well. It is less than one mile each way, and is not technically challenging. But on a warm day, practically every smaller child had to be carried by their parents once reaching about 3/4 of the way to the small lake at the top. Which means its likely the kids have to be carried back...

It's one of the hidden gems of summit county. It's not that it's hard to find. It's that you could pass right by and never notice it was there. Which is why I like to go there when I need to find peace and quiet. Walk up to the tiny pond that no one knows looks down on lake Dillon. Watch the Hawks go fishing, burn...
