Colorado|The snowy mountains and lakes in summer are absolutely breath
Near Silverthorn, a famous ski destination in Colorado, lies the stunning Dillon Reservoir. Most people visit in the fall for the foliage or in the winter for skiing, but summer offers a uniquely beautiful experience as well.👌 From Denver, it’s about an hour’s drive west to Dillon. You can navigate directly to Point Dillon Park (315 W Lodgepole St, Dillon, CO 80435).👍 Strolling along the lakeside path is so relaxing. Even in June, when temperatures reach the 30s°C (80s°F), you can still see snow-capped mountains, green meadows, and the lake all in one frame. You can also sit on the dock, dip your feet into the chilly lake water, and gaze at the distant mountains—it instantly washes away all your worries. Just remember to wear sunscreen! The UV index can easily reach 10+ up in the mountains. The area is at an elevation of about 2,800 meters (9,200 feet), so make sure to stay hydrated and avoid overexerting yourself.😊 On the drive from Denver to Dillon, you’ll see snow-covered peaks along the way.😘 On the return trip, you can stop by these two spots: 1️⃣ Georgetown Loop Railroad (646 Loop Dr, Georgetown, CO 80444) If you’re lucky, you might catch a glimpse of the historic train winding through the mountains. 🚂🌲 2️⃣ Georgetown Lake (Co Rd 306, Georgetown, CO 80444) You’ll spot this beautiful lake from the highway on the way to Dillon (on the opposite side). It looks stunning even from the road, and on the way back, it’s the perfect time to stop and explore. The lake is relatively small but feels nestled right against the mountains. You might even see some adorable, colorful ducks! 🦆💚 #LifeInNorthAmerica #MountainViews #HealedBySnowyPeaks #Wanderlust #TravelDiaries
