Penitente Morada — Attraction in Four Corners States

This place is far off up north into a whole new beautiful,mesmerizing and peaceful part of New Mexico. It was my first time up there and it didn't dissapoint. In Abiqu there is the coziest and coolest general store called Bowdeys. They have the nearest stuff u never knew you needed. As far as the Morada Its hard for me to put into words. Via een onverharde weg die meer lijkt op een oprijlaan, voorbij de dorpsbegraafplaats met zijn handgemaakte kruisen, staat in Abiquiu de Penitente Morada. Omlijst door een van Georgia O'Keeffe's vergezichten. Een eenvoudige bel en drie houten kruizen verwijzen naar het geheime genootschap dat aanleiding gaf tot deze kapel, onlangs gerestaureerd maar daterend uit de 17e eeuw.
