Went there after a heavy thunderstorm hit the area. Still paid $28.- ($7.- per Person in car) for the entrance, though there was only one hour left until the closing time. At least the ranger at the cashiers desk told us, that there is only one hour remaining and due to the severe weather condition, most of the exposures in and around the visitor center already closed. However, we still enjoyed our hike with no other guests around. The pathways were partly flooded and therefore it was quite difficult to find our way on the hike. ย ย ย Read moreWife and I kinda just stumbled on the park driving the red rock loop. So glad we did. AMAZING views and scenery. We took our time and stopped to take pictures, then would go 15 more feet and the pic was even better. We went up past fure house then took eagle nest trail. Probably 2.5 hrs taking a leisure pace with plenty of stops to drink some water or take pics. There is a really nice visitors center with an informative movie playing in the theater, lots of signage and displays. Will include just a few of our pics, but 10/10...
ย ย ย Read moreLoved the visitor center! From the outside, there's a scenic overlook spot and you can see the red rock mountains. Then, you can continue down to the red buildings of the center. There's a small theater that plays an informative movie and you can cool off there. There's also a display area and restrooms/water fountains nearby.
