Southern Ute Cultural Center and Museum — Attraction in Four Corners States

This place is one of the best museums I have ever attended. Well worth a visit. Lots of things to do for children. Lots of exhibits to interact with. It really went through all the different time lines of the people. I loved the cabin, teepee, and classroom set up where you are immersed in the experience. I learned so much and information was so well presented my 5 year old understood. My son really loved the interactive stamps for the kids, and the different stations for them to get to try. A beautifully arranged cultural museum that really gives visitors a sense of the tribe's history, values, and language while emphasizing the importance of....and the challenges of..... self-preservation in the modern world. I came away with a deep respect for the Southern Ute and was really impressed with the museum. Admission is free, just make whatever donation you can. One of the most cultural and significant locations in the whole area aside from Mesa Verde. I would highly recommend making a stop here because you will be much more aware of the ancestry and ancient way of life in the area. FREE!
