I swung in on a spur decision just because I had visited the Petrified Forest National Park a few weeks ago but from a different entrance point. I didn't have a lot of time to wander around today, but I came to the first stopping point which was this. It was a beautifully open expanse of multiple colours of beautiful earth.

I am sorry to say that I don't know where I entered in from when we were there a few weeks ago, but I'm including some photos of that side as well.

If someone were to drive from one side to the other than I am sure you would see both of the...

Often the first view visitors get of the Painted Desert, Tiponi Point looks out over the red and white, rain carved landscape that provides the name for this region of the state. A short staircase leads down to a viewing area but the view can be seen from the upper point as well. A pair of interpretive signs provide more information about the area. There are no facilities at this site. The parking area is a pull-through with parking for...

If you are driving through the area and have a couple hours to look at the beautiful hills and preserved landscapes then this national forest will be a great stop for you. Beautiful views for miles. $25 cover charge per vehicle. I should have taken more pictures but they don't do it justice anyway nothing like seeing these places in person.

Toponi Point is a beautiful and peaceful stop with stunning views of the Painted Desert. It’s a great place to pause and take in the layered colors and quiet beauty of the landscape. Easy to access and never too crowded, it’s a perfect overlook for a quick photo or a few reflective minutes along the drive. Absolutely worth the stop!
