A must-hike in Sedona. Started out on the Broken Arrow trail, took a few detours to the more challenging Twin Buttes and Hog Heaven trails. Turns out to be a little over 3 miles round trip with a 300+ foot elevation change. Views are as good as they get of Wilson mountain, submarine rock and eastern Sedona.
BE ADVISED: this is a strenuous hike for experienced hikers. Trails are narrow, steep, and difficult to follow in many areas. This is not a trail for first timers (unless you are with an experienced guide). It is also a shared trail with mountain bikers and is called out as a double black diamond, so be on the look out for cyclists. The 3 mile loop starting at Broken Arrow trailhead, following Twin Buttes and Hog Heaven will take a little over 2 hours to complete with all the great photo ops...
