I called a few days before our stay to confirm details and specifically asked about any additional fees, and none were communicated. Upon checkin, they asked me for $300 or fees and parking. Which is fine, but when I asked them for a break down, so I could request a reimbursement from my credit card company, since I booked with points, they couldn’t give me that and seemed annoyed that I would even ask.
The hotel is nice, and mostly clean. The two bedrooms, full kitchen and washer and dryer are nice to have. It is hard to navigate the entirety of the hotel though.
Out second night here, there were guests running up and down our hallway screaming and laughing. Scaring my children. I called the front desk, and they offered to call security. What I can only assume to be the same group, moved to the courtyard where their behaviors only echoed louder. This continued until around 2:00AM. There was also the smell of weed coming from balconies around ours.
Our last night here, we realized we were never given wristbands for the water parks or pools, or a parking pass, so we were stopped every time upon entry to the property.
We had used all of our towels, and were told we would get housekeeping on our third day, but we did not. So my husband went down the the front desk to get new towels(after calling the front desk several times and failing to reach anyone) and the front desk attendant said we should have washed and dried the towels we had and made it difficult to get new ones. We then realized there must have been additional paperwork we never received since she seemed like this was common knowledge. But when I reviewed the one paper we did get, it in fact says to leave the towels on the floor and we would get new ones. This obviously never happened.
Frustrated and concerned about what checkout might bring tomorrow, I went down to talk to the manager only to find out he was on break. The front desk attendant said he wasn’t even sure what the paperwork given at check in says. So I find that to be problematic. I was told a manager would call me back in 30 minutes, that was a couple of hours ago.
We will not be back to this hotel and I will be asking my credit card company to take it off of their list of...
Read moreWe stayed at the Grove for 3 nights. The waterpark is included for “free” in your stay. I am giving 4 stars bcuz this resort may be fantastic for others and we had a nice time, but in my opinion there are details that would probably steer me towards trying other resorts than going back here anytime soon. I do want to say though that every employee we interacted with was very kind and helpful.
The thing we absolutely loved the most was the Flow Rider at the small waterpark. The instructor that my kids had was absolutely amazing and made sure my kids had a blast during their 30 minute ride session. He also stood on the board with them and let them wear his sunglasses and hat and would splash the parents watching, which the kids loved obviously lol. My kids also loved the hair wrap station. The girls working at it were very kind and did a great job.
I am not sure if we just got unlucky on the days we were there but the water at the waterpark felt so gross and dirty. When we put goggles on and looked underwater you couldn’t see past a couple inches. One of the main walking paths in the waterpark in front of the two large slides was so slippery with what I would assume is mold. I saw multiple adults slip up and almost fall and multiple kids fall. Seems like they should invest in fixing this situation rather than just putting a yellow folding sign that says watch your step. So be careful there. The resort can be somewhat difficult to navigate at first until you really understand the what felt like so many doors from the parking garage to your room. And the parking garages were designed poorly so have fun with that if you have a large vehicle.
Something else we may have been unlucky with was the flooring in our rooms bathroom. Whenever you would step on the floor near the shower the floor felt soft and you could hear water slushy noise, which grossed me out as well. There is obviously mold growing under there.
Some of our cons are probably things others could look past and may not be bothered or grossed out by. And I know the employees are working hard and doing a great job, so the resort is a very nice option for many and still...
Read moreWe'd hoped for early check in, but it wasn't available. However we were given a card to go to the pools. Parking is confusing at 1st, but it's nice having the car in a parking garage. There's a $300 safety deposit at check it, which you get back afterwards. You also pay for parking. When checked in, everyone in your party is given a bracelet to serve as room key and pool entrance. Be careful when you put it on, because you can't get it off without cutting it. I made the mistake of making mine too tight, but managed. The strings are bit annoying so i cut mine off. It's nice not having to keep up with the room keys. The suite was 2 bedroom, 2 bath, a kitchen, living room, dining area, 2 large closets, a laundry room with washer and dryer, and a balcony. The rooms and bathrooms were big. There's were a few things that caught my attention such as very thick dust on the bedroom side tables, and dresser drawers that didn't close in the guest room, but overall it was nice. Ceiling fans in most rooms, and the ability to lower the ac to the low 60s was nice especially with the summer heat. A walk in shower and a separate jacuzzi like tub in the master suite bathroom was nice! Along with 2 sinks, private toilet, large closet. The balcony was very small but cute. We visited the large pool with water slides and a lazy river. It was quite a walk from our room, but beautiful landscaping to view on the way. The chairs go quickly but we were early enough to secure a few. I'd recommend purchasing either a cabana or reserving chairs, which must be done in advance. The pool water wasnt as clean as you'd expect, infact ran to shower afterwards. However it was filled with people. The staff were amazing, came to our chairs regularly. The other more private pools were very clean, and chairs were easier to obtain. The food was really good. The breakfast bar was pretty good too, but I wouldn't say $28/person good. The arcade was nice, our 2 teens had a great time in the evening there and at the hot tub. We'd go back. The 2nd time would be a bit easier now knowing the set up and...
