This is by far the worse event venue I ever hosted a party at ! I sat 20 minutes no party host . The staff left me and 9 children in a cold waiting area not even allowing us to sit use the bathroom or enter the building after a party bus dropped us off . We was only 30 minutes early they only allow 15 which in still we was not even allowed to enter the establishment until it was exactly 15 minutes prior . The host attacked me with anger stating she came I wasnāt there when I had 9 children to make sure they got there correct size skates. Granted that took me 15 minutes . She pointed to a random guy that she stated she asked were I was ? In which if heās not paying what did it matter to him find me ! I asked to speak to manager due to host hostility the manager laughed in my face ! I asked for compensation due to the host being rude and angry the manager again laughed and said yea ok not happening ! Asked security who looks like he canāt remember what day it is what happened instead of addressing her staff for hollering and discussing a matter with hostility in the middle of the skating ring infront of my guess with anger . Very sad way to address someone or patrons as such supporting your business. Then she was adding fees and kids trying to over charge me and still over charged me ! I emailed and called about my list and questions about decorations several days prior no one returned my calls or emails . My party started at 4 my host left at 5 and granted no one cut my cake or gave the cake out my family in which is I thought thatās why you have a host at a venue so you can relax . After the kids finished pizza again no host cleaned up the plates I had to and had to ask the dj to announce the time for my kids to come back and sing happy birthday still no host . So as the door is adding kids to my bill they tell me they have no time to set the kids up or assist me they are hosting other parties. Manager is very nasty again and need establishment shut down I went to ask her again about she told me I had two and me and my family still aināt seen the two until they told us party was over if I didnāt keep track of time my son wouldnāt even had a chance to open gifts . Deptford skating ring is so much better and cleaner and my go to but due to Covid they never opened back up ! I will never book another party or enter this raggedy run down skating ring again . Food was horrible kitchen was dirty and they charged kids $0.40 for cents for a. Up of water in a paper cup. No one in kitchen had gloves on serving food I seen roaches on counter and food all over kitchen floor . Staff dropped fries and put back in container to serve to patrons it was just horrible from...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhen we arrived to our table, the table was set up for 9 kids instead of 14. My husband asked one of the staff members if we could get 5 more set ups and the lady told him no & that they only set up a few incase some kids donāt make it, & they will set up as they go. Understandable. As the party continued more kids started showing up and no extra set ups (plates, cup, light up accessories, pizza) were given to us. I completely understood that our hostess was also taking care of 2 other parties (which is ridiculous and should never be the case) so I was not bothered by it. I asked to have the extra set ups and she brought them right over. Now this is what caused me to write this review (I honestly do not let things get to me). As I was returning from the restroom, a few moms from the party pulled me aside to let me know that two ladies (one being the hostess) kept coming by counting the set ups and saying that I needed to pay for the extra ones. Keep in mind a list with all of the names of the kids that were attending was emailed to them 2 days in advance and the list was also at the door. So there were no extras. Iām guessing the extra from the 9 originally set up, which I was expecting to pay for. I looked over and they were having the conversation and still pointing fingers, counting kids, counting set upās, whatever, in front of my party (so it was very uncomfortable for my guests, embarrassing to me, and very unprofessional of them). I walked over to them and asked what the problem was, and my hostess responded that I asked for additional set upās, I replied yes. The lady with her proceeded to say that I had to pay for them. I responded by saying that I knew I had to pay for them and why would I ever think that it was free. She stated that the number of set ups was not adding up to the number of kids. I told her that is impossible because everyone has a wrist band on, therefore, everyone who checked in is on the list up front. & told her they needed to take that up with whoever is checking the party in because clearly yaāll are unorganized and they walked away. They did not come back to apologize for the confusion on THEIR END, nor did our hostess come back to check on us, we were only half way through the party by the way. Anyways, I did not let this upset me and continued celebrating my daughters day! Food was fine, the rest of the staff were very nice, and the kids enjoyed the skating rink (this is where the 3 stars came from) Did not get anyones names and now that I am settling in at home, I wish I did. Either way, I wonāt...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOkay, let me say, I absolutely LOVE this place. It's retro, but clean and super affordable! I've been here a few times in the different hours. My main time I like to come is for the Friday morning coffee club skate sessions - a completely relaxed vibe for an older crowd (18+) to enjoy the rink without having to worry about little ones shooting across the floor. :) Everyone here is super inviting during this time, and very accommodating for someone like myself who is just starting to get back into skating. They have the classic organ music during this time, the party lights are turned off, it's regular lighting only, and the people who come here during this time are super welcoming. Plus, the admission cost includes a skate rental! You can't beat that.
Please ignore the people who complain about the "center of the floor" rule. That does apply to ALL rinks you head to, and it's very much for one's safety. It is very dangerous to skate while holding on to something, and you will guaranteed bust your bubble if you're holding on to a wall! Not only that, but faster skaters have to maneuver around slower skaters and it's just not a good mix! I find this is more of a concept during the matinee skates or when the younger crowd is skating. I've taken my 3-year old son during these times and the staff is pretty attentive to the floor, making sure that most people are where they need to be. But, if you're just newly getting back into skating, I really recommend coming during a time when it's an 18+ plus skate. All-skates have children darting constantly and you have to watch out. You know, typical rink stuff!
They offer Skate Mates, which was great for the first hour when my little toddler was trying to skate. After that, he was good, as they offer rental skates with the big back wheels for stability as well.
They do have lockers for your shoes and personal belongings (50 cents to use), but they're not terribly big, so don't bring too much stuff. It looks like they do offer both in-lines and quads for rental use as well.
I only wish they had more daytime skating sessions, I love coming here so much! Cost of admission is on their website and it's super reasonable. Definitely less expensive than most other things in South Jersey if one is looking for a family day to do....
