Oakwood Park Golf Course — Attraction in Franklin

I went here today to walk 9 holes on a nice (but hot) day off. When I arrived, there were technology issues in the clubhouse which was preventing them from checking people in and resulted in a 10-15 minute wait to get checked in and out on the course. This is completely fine and understandable. However, because of this wait I was forced to start late and decided to move quickly through the first two holes (also fine). When I got to the third tee box there was a significant wait before I hit my drive and afterwards immediately walked to my ball. When I was standing in the middle of the fairway at the 150 marker waiting to hit my approach shot, I see the two people in the group behind me on the tee box, one addressing his ball. He looked back at his friend and then hit his drive, which fortunately went far out of bounds before his friend waited for me to turn my back and start walking to hit his. I called the clubhouse to explain the situation, and was told very rudely "why don't you just let those two play through" which of course would be ridiculous as I was already waiting and it would just be inconveniencing me more while rewarding the act of deliberately attempting to use a golf ball as a weapon. I left after that hole, which may have been a good idea anyway since there was no water out on the course in 93 degree weather. I took off work to play 18. Both the individual who originally took our reservation and the individual who checked us in said 18 holes - after 9 holes, the message to us was too bad, there is unfortunately nothing we can do and they basically sent us home.

Andy, the golf pro at the course was very professional and accommodating - called me back personally the next day. There definitely needs to be some additional training for the staff (both in terms of scheduling and customer experience) and this experience left a sour taste in my mouth - Andy was able to rectify the situation in the end.

The course itself is great, one of the better ones in Milwaukee County - there just seems to be some additional training needed...

I have been a resident of Milwaukee County my entire life and have golfed each county course several times. I can say, without a doubt, that this is the best golf course in the county. Reasonably priced as it is an extremely nice course that I find myself coming back to each week. Long holes with some tricky bunkers and water hazards make rounds enjoyable, and the staff is top notch. Would recommend to everyone in the area who wants a great...
