Historical park?!... There's history definitely being made here. It's one where the city allows a nice beautiful little park to turn into a trashed out homeless encampment. Trash and God knows what else running into the creek. Closing it off to tax paying citizens. SMH You want to give the homeless a place to stay? How about you contact Alameda County and open up the homeless shelters and psychiatric hospitals. Avoid this place until they clean it up. Shameful!
Update: they now are openly going in and stealing in the nearby convenience store. These bums have no shame and nether does Fremont! Neighbors should say, "enough!"
Update: the mayor of Fremont, Lily Mei has the nerve to campaign for Congress. She is a complete failure. Homeless everywhere and Lake Elizabeth/Central Park is going to hell. This place is still the same. Tell your family and friends NOT to vote for her. Her politics are as trashy as what she has done to the city. Another...
Read moreEvery single person who has shamed Fremont for allowing the homeless to live there should be ashamed. There are not enough shelters in Alameda county and they system the county uses to house people really is a joke. I frequent the area and it was clear Fremont had weekly trash pick up and provided bathrooms that were maintained every few days or so. The city government should not be shames for anything other than closing the site and removing everyone putting tons of people on the street. Now Fremont is the ONLY city in our COUNTRY that has made it illegal to be homeless. The medical clinics and social workers were there frequently as well. Only know this because I use the same ll clinic for myself oand asked what outreach van labeled bach did. o has a different li94fe story but we are all still human and deserve respect regardless of what the opinion1x of others situation is. No one has any right to speak down on people you know...
Read moreTrue this park isn't maintained well, but that's sort of the beauty of it. It's on the edge of the Niles hill and give the community a wild nature park to be able to enjoy what some, at one time, would have enjoyed for a leisurely walk in the country or used as a film set for silent films that were shot here in Niles. The homeless have been moved away and it is now clear again. Our Federal and State laws allowed the homeless to stay not our...
