Before I go All-In. Thank you neighbors for sharing your homes with thousands of people every year to shut down your neighborhood, for hours and weeks, for the goodwill of smiles. Kudos to the City of Fresno for structuring the event planning in a safe and organized manner and communicating with the community about the expectations of maintaining this traditional event to be respectful, safe, and family focused.

Wow! Can I stay awake through this drive. Sleepy Mom Driving. If you have visited any magical Christmas Lane then you will be bored. I'm a visitor to the city. And lights, camera, action is my thing. Actually if you got bundled up to go see Christmas lights it's probably your thing too. The Fresno bowling alley had more Wow.

When kiddos and cars go to sleep and it's only 6:10 that is telling. If this was a walking event, I would demand foot massages at the end. And a refund. Oh yeah it's free. Well, refund my time.

I have no proof but I noticed a pattern: No mechanical decorations. Period. The most dramatic a house could be is stand-ups that were cardboard or wood decor No awesome lights spectacular. Most homes had one light or it could have been the already lawn lights Do not expect any Christmas Light Fight competition

Two hours later between waiting in line and passing last home, I would recommend a pass on this one.

High Fives Beautiful trees. Actual trees, not Christmas trees. Monetary donations at the end are appreciated

This place is indeed a central valley holiday gem. 2 miles of nicely decorated upscale houses and public property along the street make this a great (and probably the largest) display of holiday lights by the entire street of neighbors. The story behind why this started is very touching and it's great to see the event continue after all these years! I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the event is free and donations are encouraged to keep it going every year. They are not sponsored, nor commercialize the event. But unfortunately now where you once used to see carolers on walk nights playing instruments or singing for the spirit of the holiday, you now see guys walking around trying to capitalize on the event by selling merchandise reminiscent of nighttime Disneyland souvenirs, that blink and glow. Not that people wearing it carrying such items takes away from the magic of the lane, but the reason people go to the lane has always been removed from the commercialized version of Christmas, and it felt out of place to see vendors walking around. I would prefer to drop a donation to a brass quintet or small choir than purchase a trinket. But that's just me. The only other thing was that they admit vehicles until 10pm and it takes about an hour to get through the entire Lane, but the city turns off their portion of the lights at 10:30. So if you go late you might miss some of it. Otherwise, I look forward...

1st issue the cutting problem needs to be controlled. We sat in the same spot on Blackstone Avenue for 15 minutes before we realized it was because people were making u-turns at the light on Gettysburg and Blackstone and Blackstone and Ashlan and cutting in front of everyone already in line. My question is who is in charge, who is organizing this because in my opinion it was no one. 2nd issue there is absolutely no space for people trying to go to the local business on the right side of Blackstone. For example, Me-N-Ed’s, Wienerschnitzel, and Sonic. If I were a business on Blackstone I would be complaining to the city because that is cutting into their sales. 3rd issue I did not feel like anyone was in charge, it was EXTREMELY unorganized and not at all how I remembered it to be. We had a 5 year old in the car who was very disappointed and crying because we ended up leaving due to this terrible experience. This is an extremely popular attraction and the people in charge need to hire people to stand out and direct traffic. Once these issues are resolved I would love to come enjoy the beautiful lights but until then no thanks I’ll stick to...

Our first visit here after living in Fresno for 2 years.....we opted to park at Fig Garden Village and walk a big chunk of the route at 8:30pm on a Sunday night. We had missed the 2 walking nights offered and didn't want to wait in the long car line. Walking was so easy and relaxing. There were maybe 8-10 other people walking. Yes, car headlights were shining in our faces and you did smell car exhaust from the long, slow line of vehicles but the decorations and atmosphere made up for that. No sidewalks -- you're walking on gravel and dirt mostly; we tried to be respectful of the resident's property. We had to maneuver between trash barrels. I probably wouldn't recommend it for a stroller.
