This was my third visit to Black Creek Park. On two occasions, I was invited to join others. The park features great amenities, including clean bathrooms, a baseball diamond, and a warm-up track for joggers.
I found that the rail trail has a surface made of crushed gravel, which is suitable if you're riding a mountain bike or have adequate off-road tires. The trail accommodates a variety of activities, including hiking, running, and cycling. Black Creek Park is a great place for young cyclists to get started, as it generally experiences low traffic during the week and on Sundays.
The trail is about 16 miles out and back, give or take a few miles if you add a warm-up. There are trails, a ball field, picnic tables and pavilions, a fitness area (that people actually use!) and restrooms that are always clean. The City of Alabaster needs to visit this park and see how it’s done! This is a great area for dogs, families, walkers and bikers. A tornado came through a few years ago and destroyed most of the pines in the park. However, it looks so nice now. Very enjoyable, safe...
