If only it was more accessible by walking! Not the park's fault, of course, but it still would be huge. I live less than half a mile away and still would have to walk on the shoulder of Judd Parkway to get to the park. Very frustrating.
The park itself is well equipped for being so small. It has a handful of softball fields which are easy to access when they're not in use. There's a moderately sized playground with two jungle gyms, one smaller and one bigger one. Four swings is a little scant for how popular the park has become, but that's OK.
There's a concession stand that I believe operates mainly for baseball/softball games. I've only seen it open once. Gratuitous amounts of parking, so that should not be an issue. There's a larger, flat field that would be ideal for football...if it wasn't right next to the road. I don't think it was necessarily designed for sports, but one gust of wind on a frisbee or a failed deep route could be trouble.
The show stopper is, of course, splash pad. I saw they're instituting a fee this year, which is kind of a bummer. It totally makes sense though, with how popular the pad has been. I'm thankful for the new pavillion, which should help with staying out of the sun.
It's a great little park, perfect for taking the kids to burn off some energy, or if you need a field...
Read moreUPDATE: So, we finally got a chance to visit the SplashPad area, and, after being to the amazing one down in Sanford at Kiwanis Family Park, this one was okay and on par with that one, but, a little bit of a let down for three reasons: 1.) The daggon water shuts off on most of the SplashGround like every three to four minutes?!?! It eventually comes back on, yes, but, that’s just annoying when the water cuts off SO frequently?! Doesn’t make any sense. The SplashPad in Sanford never cut off once, not one single time we were there. 2.) There are GNATS everywhere and they are all around the SplashPad area!?!? I was getting attacked by then the entire time we were there. 3.) They charge every person $2 to get into the SplashPad area. But, all that being said, it IS still a fun water area at a playground for kids. It has way more water features than most other SplashPads and SprayGrounds. They have a BIG Big Bucket, too! It takes 5-8 minutes to fill up and dump, but it is fun once it finally DOES fill up! lol S great park for kiddos! 👍👍
AWESOME playground with FOUR cool slides! One of em being a tube/tunnel slide. There’s a rock-climbing wall, and a smaller playground for babies. There’s also a cool splashpad area right next to the playground too! Definitely worth a visit if you have...
Read moreFrom be being a Resident and living within the 10mile radius, They(at the splash pad and office) treated me like a Non Resident. E Every time i go there (Which is rare!, cause of my Job) they only ask me for my addres now they want my Pass??? I thought it was ridiculous. The Staff is terrible, If there going to start by abaing by the rules-they should start by the start. Instead of making Residents feel unappreciated, which we pay our City Taxes!! My visit was 7/13 around 4:30. Also if I stated the looks they gave us was unnecessary, if they cant have good customer service, I seek them look for another job. They do work around kids in a SPLASH PAD! A word of advice be careful how you treat people and not...
