I live in the area and have three young kids ages 5, 3, 1. This splash pad was perfect for my kiddos. It has a lot of calmer things that my youngest could enjoy and some higher thrill things for my older. I love that it is fenced in! This is so helpful when watching three young kids. As an adult you can stand out of the way and stay relatively dry or get wet if you would prefer. When we got there on a Monday during the summer there were maybe five kids playing in the splash pad. It got busier as the morning progressed but it was never crazy. Maybe the entrance fee keeps day camps at bay/ away. Free splash pads around this area are PACKED during the summer with camps which can be a nightmare for moms with young kids. The Fuquay Splash pad is bigger than the Jack Smith splash pad in apex.
Things to note: You do have to pay entry if you are not a Fuquay Varina Resident. It is two dollars a kid. Children 2 and under are free and an accompanying adult is free. This meant it was $4 for all of us. There are no benches inside the splash pad. It is in the sun so bring sunscreen. The one thing that was hard for me was they would not let you bring anything in the splash pad area (like a small purse). I didn't realize this so I had to leave my purse out in the open away from me...I'm not sure why this is a rule.
Playground next to the splash pad - the mulch they used is black rubber which is not my favorite especially in the summer. It gets everywhere, its hot, and your young kids might...
Read moreMy 2 year old and I came to the splash pad today. It was a lot of fun! The reasons for the 4 star review instead of 5 are:
The splash pad is supposed to open at 10 am. The water was on and everything was ready to go this morning except for their staff. We had to wait for them to open the window to pay until about 10:10. We could only stay until about 11 today, so we missed out on 10 mins of play because their staff wasn't ready. And the line was LONG by that point.
Some of the water features were not working. The rainbow arches didn't work at all while we were there, as well as, a few other smaller features that are good for the smaller children that are nervous about the big buckets, ect. So my daughter just hung around the small mushroom the...
Read moreKids had fun. Not much shade. I was a little upset at how the teenage boy that was in charge treated my 8 year old. The rainbow sprinkler at the front was broken. My son was one of many that decided to swing on it. The teenage boy that was on his phone most of the time saw my son doing it. Instead of being professional about it and asking my son not to swing on it, that it was not safe, he rudely yelled “hey kid, stop doing that or I’m going to kick you out!” I think if they are going to represent the town they should have some lessons in being professional and how to treat...
