Atlanta Botanical Garden, GAINESVILLE — Attraction in Gainesville

This place is breathtaking! I was married there Memorial Day weekend 2016. I had just over 100 guests, which fit perfectly inside and out. All of my guests mentioned how beautiful the gardens were. They walked through the winding garden path to the outdoor ceremony location (I chose the smaller one surrounded by orange and blue flowers), which set the mood perfectly. The trees gave us just enough shade to keep everyone cool. The reception space has a great outdoor dance floor adjoining the terrace overlooking a pond. Makayla was my contact, as she is in charge of special events. She responded to any emails very quickly, and was so accommodating even though we were consistently late for everything. I also loved the bar this venue offers. The bartenders were incredibly nice and no one had to wait more than a minute for a drink. Well it ain't Atlanta but given its location it was surprisingly nice. Totally enjoyed walking through the garden and admiring the flora, fauna and "creepy" non-native spiders. The grounds are super clean and serene. Limited staff are knowledgeable and personable. Vending machines offer non-alcoholic beverages and snacks. Relaxing outdoor bar overlooking the pond offers a place to sit back and chill for all my grown folks. The Children's Garden does have a play area for younger kids and a place to seat for tired adults. Plenty of parking available. I hear pre-COVID the amphitheater hosted some top name concerts... Admission was definitely priced nicely. Overall it was a good experience. I will probably revisit next spring to see it...

Atlanta has two botanical gardens. This is their smaller Gainesville location. I prefer it, not because it is equal to the bigger one, but because it is smaller, easier to navigate, and you can control your social distancing just a little bit better.

This garden like most, also has a walking trail, although I seldom use it, I notice that it is quite popular.

I come here to practice my photographical skills on the flowers and pollinating insects. This park has just created a children's garden, which I know kids will like, but doesn't do anything for me, personally! The ABG, could really use more members, now that the lockdown has been lifted, for spring (which is the season they lost) is usually when they get their biggest crowds. I always have a membership to this place.
