Waffle House — Restaurant in Gainesville

Waffle House used to be a favorite breakfast spot for me and my wife. Now, the menu has shrunk to almost nothing, the food is no where near as good as it used to be and bland, and very over priced. I know inflation is a factor, but this is ridiculous. The thing I hate worst is that it is winter and it is always freezing cold when you go in. Your food is cold by the time you get it because of this and you are sitting there freezing even when you have a coat on. Who wants to spend increased costs and be miserable and cold while you are eating cold food! It seems to be a trend in restaurants these days. If you ask them to warm it up, they say it is too hot in the kitchen (yet they are wearing sweaters, etc). We are the customers and deserve a decent experience. The design of restaurants needs to be rethought too so they can have one environment and thermostat for the cooking area and another for the customers. We will not eat at another Waffle House until these things are worked out. Too bad, because we always loved their cheese eggs and covered hashbrowns...

Not quite sure what to think except bad timing. There was a dirty booth we were waiting on getting cleaned but it took too long. There were a few bar seats available, but I'm not that kinda guy. LoL. So my daughter and I came to a competitor, got seated right away and ordered quickly. Kinda what we expected at WH but they were too busy and they didn't sound too coordinated calling orders. Might try again

5-6-22 7pm Took this long to try again. I will NOT be back after the visit Waitress was professional and courteous. But working alone with 1 cook. Who has been throwing and slamming all items down. Even food. I understand if they are short handed. I will never condone taking your frustrations out in obvious plain view of customer and stating "I'm just fixing to go home". If you have someone's logo on your work attire, you show respect. Period... 5 tables dirty, and a couple had to sit at bar to not force waitress to come clean a table. 4 tickets open at time of visit. I am also at bar This is 2nd night visit. I sure hope this gets...

Waitress was very rude and inattentive. I was not acknowledged for 10 minutes once I arrived. (they weren't busy, and I was the 4th patron in the restaurant). It seemed to be a very heavy burden for the waitress to have to take my complicated order of a double order of hash browns (scattered, plain) which was to-go. My food was literally thrown into a bag with a sigh of annoyance. The ketchup I asked for was dropped on the floor, picked up, and thrown into the bag. I didn't get any utensils to eat with and didn't dare ask. I still tipped 50% on my check. She saw the 2 dollar tip I left on the 4 dollar check and LAUGHED AT ME. ..... Why???!! My hash browns were under cooked and there was nasty gunk and dirt all in my bag of food and on the container itself from the ketchup she dropped on the wet nasty floor. I just don't get it. Why act that way? I'll never EVER be back. I literally paid money to be disrespected, mistreated and served dangerous nasty food. I'm floored. This is an absolute disgrace to Waffle...
