Don't get trapped there!

It's a nice park with restrooms, a small playground with swings, and nice walking trails.

But...

I was a just couple minutes late from coming off the trail and they locked the gates, trapping my vehicle inside. It's my own fault. Im not saying it's not, but does that park really need gates to begin with? Anyone who wants in can just jump the fence... Which is what I had to do, to get out of the park and call for an Uber. My other complaint is the closing time. Most parks in and around Gainesville close at sundown. This park however closes at 5:00PM SHARP!!!

So, if you go...(and it is a nice park to go to)... Be sure to be outta...

My experience today was basically disgusting. Went there with my daughter and wife. Our experience was short lived after seeing several grown men doing some lewd acts. One black male got out of his car after a conversation with another male and followed him down the trail. The problem is that this guy wasn't wearing any pants!!! His butt shining in all of its glory for my daughter to see!! All of this took place while two male city of Gainesville employees were at the...

Beautiful small park with incredible nature walk , elevated walk areas and down in the dirt, but well marked, trails meandering through wooded terrain just far enough from the road to let you forget you are in the city. Swing sets, climbing "rocks", picnic tables, seating and space for various events, plenty of shade, covered pavilions, open deck areas and parking for about about twenty. Peaceful, shady, sounds and scenes of nature every...

Very wild area for a city park. There are boardwalks and trails that lead all the way to 441 and one to Williston road. Saw many wild things there and even an ephemeral swamp. Be very wary of alligators because there are underground connections between the park and the lake and Bivans Arm lake is LOADED with gators!

Nice peaceful walk. No trail signs at any of the path splits so had to use Google maps to find my way back out. Everyone I encountered during my walk was very friendly and offered directions on which path to take. Some parts are well tended while others seem to be neglected, but over all it was a lovely experience.

minus the street traffic this place was incredibly peaceful and beautiful. i enjoyed a long barefoot walk through most of the trails, only getting slightly lost at the end. the picnic areas and benches are great for just sitting and observing the beauty.
