This place is great! The playground is filled with lots of fun things for kids and adults! My kids particularly love the zipline! There's also several xylophone and bongo drums setup for kids that love to make music or noise. There are swings for wee ones and older kids and there is also a bowl swing for when they want to group swing. Theres a big bolder scructure for climbing and an amateur kids type obstacle course like setup too. Just to be clear it is for smaller kids so its not Pro-course. There is a nature walk through the forest with simple scenery thats nice for the family, even young newby walkers can do. It also has a walk path that circles the park with intermittent excercise equipment for those looking to excercise either alone or while your kids play. The bathrooms are conveniently located in the front with water fountains. The park is still relatively new so the park & its bathrooms are still clean. Lol There is ample parking as well. There is a Pavillion with several tables for birthday parties and bbq's. This is my favorite park to take my kids because it is walking distance from my house but also because my kids will play for hours and never want to leave because they love it and almost never run out of fun things to do. Its a great way to wear them out. Lol :) I do have a small warning when the sun shines on the water fountains for as long as it does the push button can get really really hot! I don't feel this is deterrent enough to take away from its glory, its just a warning for parents whom have small children or kids with sensitive skin. I have a high threshold for heat and pain and it was still hot enough to bother me a little bit. Other than that minor detail the place is...

This is a great neighborhood park, while currently closed for renovations, is a great resource for recreation, walking, and just spending time with family and friends. Dog friendly with waste stations located throughout the small park. The renovations look exciting, with excercise equipment, picnic tables, and a newly installed grill. There's a new playground for kids with brand new equipment there as well. I've got to give Home Depot props for donating land and money to make this park a reality. Regardless of the likelihood of Home Depot being somewhat coerced into the donation by local government (the usual MO for their anti-growth mindset), trading the land for the opportunity to build their nearby store I am thankful for Hogtown Creek Headwaters Nature...

This park is great! My kids love it! It has a big pavilion convenient for parties and bbq's, bathrooms and a water fountain. Giant xylophone style and bongo type instruments for the kids to make music and our family's personal favorite a Zipline. It also has a nature walk thru the forest, a jogging track with a couple of exercise stops along the way. (Pull up bars, crunch balance grips, etc.) Its pet friendly as long as they are leashed as per park rules. Open from Dusk til Dawn. Its conveniently located walking distance from our house and in a great neighborhood. The only thing the kids would like better is if it had a splash pad like...

Newly opened, went in just for 20 min to check it out. I think it's intresting history, over 100years owned and lived on by one family, helped it to seem, so far, to be free of the evidence left by many uncaring individuals that you encounter at most Gainesville parks. I.e. the feeling that way too many humans have carelessly explored it. The long private ownership has kept the place somewhat untouched. It was really refreshing and have high hopez for future explorations.

As Florida parks go, this one is decent. Nothing too spectacular, but a good hour or two relaxing. There’s a large loop at the back of the park taking you through many different types of trees. There’s one split in the road that’s makes it hard to tell where the designated trail leads, but, even meandering through that smaller trail was fun. The playground itself is great for kids (they even have a small zip line), and there’s outside workout machines too.
