Waffle House — Restaurant in Gainesville

My 5 year old and I went into the Waffle House on 13th by home depot and there was another family sitting in the booth near the bar and that's it and OF COURSE my little one wanted to sit at the bar because she thinks it's cool, so we did. I chose to sit at the end of the bar next to the register because we weren't on top of the other family. Well, the waiter we had was Philip. He was very soft spoken but that was fine. I ordered the All Star which is basically everything breakfast in one meal. He said "ok" and started at me. I then continued to tell him how I wanted my eggs and toast and all that like he should have asked. Oh well. Our food came and we never heard from him again. Well, not regarding us anyway. Him and the waitress(Morgan) were there and they continued to do what I assumed was their tasks that needed to be done before they close( mind you, we were there at 645 pm ). He was filling salts and peppers and restocking the little jelly packs at each table and section and she was washing dishes. Right. In front. Of. My. Face. Literally sprayed me with water twice. I tried so hard not to get frustrated because I know they have jobs to do, but their customer service sucked and they didn't even care that they were disrupting the meal I was trying to have with my daughter. Stopped in after working long day just wanted me some breakfast..it was like 11pm ..I ordered chicken hash browns bowl in which I asked to have cheese onion and tomato also mushroom.. the food came out. I was missing tomato from the dish. I felt like it was mission onion as well. It also had like two mushrooms on it. I asked the server to return it and just add some tomatoes in it which she did and gave me no problem. She was very sweet, when the food was brought back to me, I noticed there still wasn’t any onions. in which I stated to her that there was still missing onions.. out of nowhere the cook Antonio out of nowhere stated to me that IHOP would have my onions..I was so shocked even the server dropped her mouth ..poor poor leadership coming from a supervisor..I will never return to Waffle House sorry ….i took Antonios advise and drove down to IHOP food fast and fresh and exactly as I ordered..Thanks Antonio for the great...

Looking for a restaurant after 9:30 p.m. that has a fried fish sandwich (see review of Captain D's) .Gainesville has no such place,Iive on the n.w. side and it suddenly hit me Waffle House.Fresh cooked to order food.I had a bowl of fresh made chilli and a made to order double cheese burger.Topped it off with an old style cherry coke .Two squirts of cherry syrup in a reg. coke to clarify. My son had their fresh made coffee that our waitress made sure to keep filled.Two eggs overlite on a huge platter of hash browns and this huge waffle overlapping the plate. THE WAITRESS WAS GREAT. THE FOOD WAS PERFECT TO ORDER I WAS wearing my 1ST Cav Army hat ,A DISCOUNT TO VETERANS. ACTIVE MILITARY. So where is the catch ? They bring the bill folded in half, so here we go, MUST BE A MISTAKE ,ALL OF THIS FOR UNDER $17 . Looking hard to find just one bad thing to say ,so here it is It was a bit loud in there,CUSTOMERS ENJOYING...
