WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! Okay, so I am not a “can I speak to the manager” type of person, but I’ve honestly never been treated with so little humanity from an employee ever. We have loved this beach in the past. It had chair rentals and concessions, and was relatively quiet. We went there today, and discovered after paying that there were no chair rentals. We went back to the gate to see if we could get a refund. The woman said to us, “can you read?” And directed us read the ticket, which said “no refunds.” We had some questions about this, to which she YELLED at us, “bottom line, no refunds!” And slammed the door in our face. We were really jarred by this, and knocked on the door to ask her for her name. She refused to answer the door; we knocked again, gently. All of this was done with respect to her, without hostility. She refused to answer the door, but was visible through the glass, so my husband wrote a note to ask her her name. She rolled her eyes, came out and told him that as a human being she did not have to provide her name, and called him disrespectful.. what?! We were just calm customers asking questions and requesting a refund, which should be a challenge that someone in her role should be able to cope with. I can’t imagine what we did to have been treated this way. Then we went to Stewart beach, and the lovely woman at the gate there (kaylee) honored our ticket. So thank you kaylee! To the curly-haired girl at east beach who would not give us her name, I have some referrals for some therapists, if...
Read moreOver all pretty nice, not as clean as I expected though. I can't count how many pieces of various kinds of plastic wrappers even a hanger ect. Also for all of you out there trying to find a beach with showers, the showers here did not work. Not the best surprise to have after walking the length of the really big parking lot being covered in sand with a7 year old that has sand in his face asking with the wind blowing more same in both of our faces. There were lots of different kinds of shells everywhere and a decent amount that were whole and still fully intact. So there's definitely pros and cons with this one. Would I pay 13$-15$ again to be at this beach for a few hours knowing now that they don't have working showers, the food stand was also unavailable, no I wouldn't. Side note the date we went was 5/4/22, a Wednesday,...
Read moreThis place is the armpit of galveston. The east jetty is run down, and depending on weather and wind, it'll flood out the jetty, making it way more of a hazard than anything else. Pair that with blocked off areas for bird protection ( totally on board for wildlife protection) and sea turtle nesting grounds and the insane amount of people including 15 dollar parking to get onto the beach and you just have a nightmare of a time. If possible, go in winter when only the fisherman remain and you'll have a slightly better time.
update as of 2023 A 73 year old man was stabbed to death in the area, only helping my case it's the armpit of galveston. If you venture,...
