This nature preserve is at the far north end of Galveston Beach. I was surprised that there was almost no one there. It was a bit strange and deserted. At the time, the wind was blowing fairly intensely, which may have been part of the issue. Lots of seabirds. The water was too rough for swimming and there were many signs indicating that no swimming should be done. I could see quite a few folks fishing. You can also see a few migratory birds if you are at the right time of the year. You have some small beaches where you can take your cars just in front of the water and do some relaxing time. Great place to see the ships coming and going to and from Houston. Or the ferry boat over to Port Bolivar. The people on the road are polite and make way because there is water over the road in places. It isn’t deep so any car can make it just fine.
