We like to take put our bikes on the Laker Line bus in downtown GR, and then ride them from GVSU to Grand Ravines on a nice bike trail; this makes for a great day trip--especially if you continue on to Grand River Park. The park is gorgeous and peaceful. Clean restrooms with nice amenities. The only thing lacking is the picnic table situation. In the area by the lodge there are no picnic tables at all; by the dog park, there are some picnic tables, but they are in full sun, so they are inhospitable during the summer months. Also, this trail isn’t frequented or busy usually, but it’s very safe and there are usually people walking by every couple minutes. The dog park is on the other-side of this park so it’s about a 1.5mile. Most of the park is unpaved, but it’s relatively flat. In the winter it’s kind of icy so there are some trip hazards, but overall it’s...
