Easy 5 star review is now a 1-star due to this park being prejudice towards people of color. At this park, there is a cop that harasses only black people on the basketball court. Iâve been at this park studying for about 3-4hrs at this point, and at around 930 pm, decided to shoot around for a moment before heading home. There were several people still at the park on the other fields. This cop makes an effort to drive past EVERYONE else just to come and watch little ole me on the basketball court. Literally no one else is on this court except me, shooting around the ball. This cop sits there for about 5 minutes parked sideways, ONLY UNTIL a white man pulls up and gets out to play basketballâŚ.. đ¤ I wish I made this up but itâs on their cameras. As soon as this white man steps out of his vehicle, the cop drives away.. Noted. Also, they NEVER treat or service the bball court like they do the other courts and fields. The nets are getting destroyed, there are several cracks in the concrete due to the grass just growing through the grounds, gate needs servicing, and...
Read moreI lived in the county for 10yrs and a regular to the park. I used all of the facilities, the pay area while out Kids were growing up, the baseball fields for cricket, the walking trail, occasional tennis and football fields for sprinting. Itâs a great outdoor area with basic amenities but 2 things I wanted to bring about as a basic need is that the restrooms and water Fountain near the basketball fields are not functional and I see lot of visitors unhappy about it and 2 While all other playing facilities have been upgraded and lit up the basketball court remains outdated with old iron backboards and no light except the one from the parking lot. This definitely needs an overhaul like Fowler and as there is only Old Atlanta Rec center for basketball, and the if a gym is rented out the other court is cramped and is open only until 6 p.m on Fridayâs...
Read moreI can only speak for the playground, which is tucked in the back end of the park. Great for older children as there are tons of climbing features and challenges. My boys tend to try to climb on the outside of the playground equipment(which I but they have no need to here. The downside is that there are no swings (though there is one "wheelchair" swing) and it is certainly not toddler friendly. It was a challenge to take my 1 year old, my 3 year old handled it well, and my 5 year old loved it. I imagine 10 or 12 year olds would have fun too. This may be just because we visited just after a series of heavy storms, but the erosion is significant, most of the mulch is washed down hill exposing...
