Very good local trail, riding distance from my home. Some sections are a bit rocky for my taste. The trails are well maintained and not very crowded. Trail crosses a stream with places to stop and get your toes wet on a hot day. There are definitely better trails in the area but, for me, it's close and enjoyable enough for a quick ride when I need to get outdoors for a bit. This trail had varied terrain, from paved, to raised wood planks, to moderate mtb (for this area). None are forced on you, you choose your ride and where you want (or don't want) to go.

A Dream....A Pure & Brilliant Dream To Be A Part Of. My lovely wife and I spent our morning here today; enjoying all of what Mother Nature is in all of her Autumn glory. Although it is a wonderful place any time of year; the Fall season is in my opinion, the best time to stroll among the giants as they garnish the path one takes with there colorful leaves. The best time to go is in the early morning. It is an amazing experience pure and simple.

Nice trail that goes from Black Hill Lake all the way to Wynnfield. Pathed the entire way so you’re able to walk this in any weather. Nice views of the lake as you go. Generally decently populated with people especially during the nicer months.

My partner and I love Black Hill! We have taken our dog, Zoey, there 3 times this month. There is a dog park at one of the trailheads. Zoey is really energetic and is so much better on the leash if she gets some energy out. It's nice to take her there before we hike. From the dog park, it's about a 2 mile hike to this nice little creek where the pupper can go for a swim and chase sticks. If you're down for a little longer hike (around 6 miles round trip) there are some really nice spots for dogs to swim in the lake. You just keep making rights all the way around the lake and you will find some really nice spots to hang out and let your dog swim. Our dog loves it there so much. The path is mostly paved, but there are some side trails which are a little more secluded. We like to let the dog off leash and take the side trails. Generally people are pretty cool about having dogs off-leash, but you run into some people who get upset. We try to be considerate. The only negative thing I have to say is that there is a little bit more litter lying around than I would really like to see. It's not an obscene amount, but it is noticeable. Overall I highly recommend Black Hill, especially if you have a dog that loves the...
