Buck Pavilion — Attraction in Germantown

A large state park with a fairly large lake. Several pavilions available, by prior reservation, for medium to large private outdoor parties. Covered with park benches underneath, can easily support parties of 60 or more people. A charcoal grill is available for use. BTW, this is a self cleaning facility. Meaning that you cleanup what you brought with youself. There are no trashcans available; so bring trasbags along. Close to the lake, there is a small trail down to it. And, there is a trail that goes all the way around the lake. Being a large lake, it's going to be a long walk. Be sure to bring water, but at the various pavilions, there is both a water spigot as well as a water fountain. And of course there are restrooms available close to the pavilions. Ours was across the road, maybe 50 yards away or so. Be sure you watch out for the poison ivy, it also around the lake. I have attached a picture of it that was less than 20 feet from the pavilion, so watch your children. That stuff is not the fun...

Attended a celebration of life in the pavilion. Location was great there was a small playground on site for the kids spacious pavilion with numerous picnic tables and grills right next to it. Public bathrooms within 3 minute...

This is a nice trail, albeit a little muddy at times and be prepared for a long walk if you go around...
