hidden gem of a hike behind the suburbs of glendale! free parking near the library. i saw two trailheads, my friend and i took the "seven trees one." it is quite steep so beware. wear proper shoes, bring sunscreen, and water for sure! the path is dirt/gravel so can be slippery at times. the views of glendale/burbank are pretty neat! unfortunately, it was quite smoggy today. there are many forks in the road, with not too much signage. my friend and i ended up going higher up the mountain and traversed along the verdugo motorway and the brand motorway, until finally making it back to the parking lot (7 miles). more signs/maps would be helpful... we were scared we got lost a few times! there were not too many people on the trail, which was nice. also water fountains/restrooms would be great additions...

The loop is short, but it also connects to a trail that goes into the Verdugo network of trails.
This trail makes a beautiful sunset hike. It's a peaceful overlook on the Burbank basin. At sunset you get to watch the lights pop on down below.
If you start early and plan to meet up with friends who start up top, you all can join on the trail and loop back to one car. Then stop out for a bite before collecting the other car.
The excellent Brand Library shares its parking lot with...
