Saved my life as a kid (well, one of the things that did). Brand Library was an oasis — a place to get away from home as a teenager, but equally a great place to be and hang out. We could look at a lot of art books that weren't at other libraries, or at galleries or museums in such abundance; where we could check out/listen to music that we otherwise might not have known about or heard, or learn the words to something we'd heard in passing... and because of that maybe learn how to play it ourselves , and become aware that some of those people and instruments and that music we could go listen to in person somewhere... Without the internet at the time, it helped us understand there were other worlds out there. I've already done a Maps review on the park with photos and this just popped up to rewrite it so and being there up there today was really nice it's like I'm going back home and you know tons of school buses tons of children it's a great family park with a Japanese tea house with koi fish and turtles and the tons of hiking trails and baseball diamonds and a really nice children's play area and of course the the brand Park library. And if you take a little hike, you can find the Brand family burial cemetery and Mr brand himself is actually buried...
