Coulter Pine Trail ascends the mountain by switchback and is a great offshoot to explore off Big Dalton Canyon trail. The route is often on the edge of a steep drop off, which affords great views but could make those with a fear of heights a bit nervous. It requires some cardio to get going, but the trail levels off a bit at height. There was a good blend of sun and shade with a diverse array of flora on hand. I especially enjoyed the many mossy boulders throughout the hike. Great spot for an afternoon exploration. I'll certainly be back.
