If I could give more stars to only Patrick & the kind front desk person I would. The overall experience was quite odd. First I had scheduled with an apprentice “blonding” stylist and was told she had to leave the salon to go back home out of state… she actually left and went to another salon. I rebooked with the other apprentice stylist, was cancelled and rescheduled again… I booked with the apprentice because their prices are about double of what I was paying in Vail… a resort town… with an expert stylist for two years. But I moved so took a chance… Finally I get in and the apprentice stylist I was seeing was about to be a year out of school… I only get partial foil highlights and a trim… seems simple enough? Apparently not. First the seats were of low quality plastic and tilt back in this strange way so you’re hunched over in this awfully uncomfortable position like a monkey for 3 hours. Next the light above your head is this horrific shade of orange either A. To hide the fact that your hair is going to come out orange or B. To match the nightmare chairs. The poor girl was SHAKING doing my hair. She was uncertain how to move her hands to place the foils and mentioned several times that they were slipping. When it was washed and time for the cut I asked for a few layers… my hair is shoulder length. The girl… still shaking… cut my hair like some sort of mix between Carol Brady and a mushroom. I’m not extremely picky so I let the cut slide… the color looked somewhat okay under the orange “ugly light” and I was reassured the orange tint to my once perfect blonde was bc of the light. Then the owner walked over and said “ohhh niiice!” (As they do so we don’t cry our hair is massively messed up) I get home and immediately notice 1. My hair is super orange and 2. There are stripes or “holidays” all through my hair… about 5 STRIPES ! I messaged the owner and she had me call to book for a fix… they literally tried to book me again with the apprentice and said “it’s a learning experience” and used the word “guinea pig”. I had to gracefully decline that suggestion and I was placed with Patrick. He did his best and what he could but I’d say the overall cut and color looks cheap… like their chairs. Considering shaving my head and starting over. The reason I gave 2 stars is because… I mean rightfully so… I didn’t pay for the fix and tipped Patrick for his very...
Read moreI personally had a very bad experience. I had an appointment for Baylage and haircut. This was my first experience with coloring my naturally black hair. I had went in for consultation to 3 places before deciding on Salon Sisu. Here are my concerns: Appointment time: for my 1st visit initially they told me 4:30pm works for them, than they never really put me on schedule, when i called to check in they insisted that i come in early 4, i made it at 4, but my appointment really didn't start till 5pm. For my 2nd appointment to color correct, i was booked for 3pm, but jay was not informed about my appointment. But thankfully she still fit me in. Bleach and baylage color: this was my 1st time, but even if so you generally expect the hairdresser to know their game right, i understand that all hair is different and acts differently but i still needed you to be able to know the steps to getting my hair at a stage closer to what we had discussed in the consultation. When i went in for correction, she said she will tone me for 20ish mins with a darker color, and came back after 40ish mins. At this point my hair has very minimal to no color visible. So it was a moo point to go through all this process. Heat settings and heat protection: i expected a salon to care about hair, i may be wrong but i feel that she didnt use any heat protection and used the highest heat settings on the dryer and curling iron. When i went for my 2nd appointment for color correction, i was sent home with wet hair in freezing temperatures outside cause she had other clients waiting. Out of all the unprofessional things i experienced at salon sisu on time and styling, this felt like the worst one. In the history of going into a womens salon, literally never have i ever heard or experienced walking out of salon with wet hair after color. Haircut: i like the face framing she did. But my main reasons for a haircut was to get rid of split ends and it feels like they are not trimmed at all from the ends.
I kept debating on writing a review or not, but my hair feels destroyed as i didn't get the color i need and its very unhealthy and damaged by all...
Read moreSo unfortunate that this place turned out to be so unprofessional. I’ve heard great things from people recently, I had come to read a few reviews right before making an appointment and upon reading the very first and most recent review i came to find a girl on her first day of work had been bullied and insulted for her attire and the way she looked being even being called “a lamb amongst lions” by a member of management and subsequently fired the same day. And from reading the review from start to finish I can see this place is extremely toxic and unprofessional I came to the realization if they can treat an employee on her first day like this I can only imagine how the customer service is. I no longer plan to make an appointment here and will advise people stay away from this business.
Edit for response: Whether she is my friend or not has little to no importance in the review. I did plan to make an appointment and that was the first review I read and was how I figured out she was let go. You however did not address the bullying or degrading comments you made to your employee and did not even deny them. I regret that you think this is a misrepresentation of your business, in fact it is a direct reflection of how poorly the business is ran. Bullying someone is not okay, whether it was the reason for her termination or not the comments made to her were absolutely unacceptable and...
