What an incredibly fun surprise! I can't recommend Joe's Smooth Alpaca Experience enough! Three of us (all adults in our 30s) went last week, and it surpassed all expectations. Joe meets you at Red Rocks then you follow him the 1/4 mile to his Alpaca and Goat ranch. You then spend over an hour feeding, petting, and playing with his 6 alpacas and 3 goats. He brings different types of food to entice the Alpacas to hang out, and has so much knowledge to share about each of the animals. It's a very laid back experience, so you can take as many photos and videos as you want, and Joe gives you numerous tips on how to snap the perfect Alpaca selfie. Each of the alpacas has it's own personality, but none are aggressive or intimidating. They're just fun to hang out with. Once you've had your Alpaca fill, Joe will offer to show you his merch trailer, which has a lot of cool items made from his alpacas' fur. My only recommendation: Bring a water bottle and towel to rinse your hands afterwards. Joe has wipes and hand sanitizer, but it felt nice to rinse...

Read moreThis is such a cool experience! The alpacas are the cutest and so gentle. Tours are small, only about 12 people on mine. Joe is the nicest, most laid back guy ever. He patiently answers everyone’s questions even though I’m sure he’s heard them all before. You have an opportunity to feed the alpacas and goats a few different types of food and take lots of pictures with them. My 4 year old absolutely loved it. And there’s a gift shop at the end with lots of items made from alpaca fur. Definitely worth doing. If you are from out of town, be sure to check out red rocks amphitheater before or after your tour, since you are literally right there in...
