My first time visiting this park. So I had a very different experience that I wasn't expecting. I didn't know what kind of park we were visiting today. It's a big place with lots of covered spaces with benches for people to sit under the shade. Have barbecue spaces , lots of big trees to hang a hammock/swing. It's near the shore ,you can see the lake ,and even go in the water to swim. Of course I didn't know any of these so I was unprepared. I suggest you bring a hammock and rope to enjoy the beautiful breeze here. If you would like to go into the water bring towels, swim suits and sandals. It got really crowded in the afternoon so come early to find a perfect spot and enjoy the quiet environment as well. The cons about this place were normally entry fee was 10$ but since it's a holiday season now they are asking 20$ per car ,this doesn't make sense at all. Increasing twice as much is being greedy I think. And even though there weren't that many people the parking lots were already full that's why we had to park our car near the road which doesn't look good and risky because the road is already tight. If you have your boat bring it,you will enjoy it a lot otherwise you can rent it here at the entrance store. Hope this helps everyone to get prepared. Overall it was a beautiful place to enjoy your whole day with...
Read moreSo on 09-28-2025 me and my family decided to come and spend a Sunday morning to noon to spend time here like we do all the time we been here never had an issue with nobody today we had a Karen lady who decide to show up with her little dog say hi and go and lay her self by the lake where there was already kids swimming and yelling like kids do and the lady decided to tell my kids to move away she doesn’t want to hear kids yelling . One is a public place and everybody goes to have fun . So I ask the Karen lady what was the issue she said the kids are screaming so I told the lady well u came to the wrong place if u don’t wanna hear noise and she said excuse me and was laughing but decided to leave and pass by we’re we were to mock my kids and laugh and then report the situation to the park because it was nonsence to argue with little kids instead of coming over and talking to us like the adults we were . This will be the last time I come to this place . The manager and a lady came an were like she comes here all the time and never an issue and automatically was like she had the right to tell tell to move away and when I ask him to speak to somebody over him he said y and threaten to call the police on me. If read I will like somebody to reach out how the...
Read moreGreat spot for photos! But if you go just to enjoy the hiking trails and scenery, try to find another park to enter through than this one. They charge $10 to park there which is ridiculous and do not tell you the closing time in the park, so expect to get honked at & hassled if you're there a second past the closing time you didn't know about. Doesn't matter if the site says the park closes at sunset because they'll push you out before then. If you find another park along the trails, like the one off Lakeside, it's not only free but you won't get rude remarks by the park employees or pushed out (they only tell you to leave if you're parked at their rental property.) Overall, giving it 2/5 stars not because of the place, but because of the staff. Would never rent a kayak from this rental place based on the experience I've had there. I'll stick to White Rock Lake for that lol. Hopefully they can better care of the environment and pick up the trash that's always on...
