This is an outstanding place to visit. It’s located at the northern end of Okeeheelee Park, which is a large Palm Beach County park offering all types of activities. I’ve only been to the Nature Center three times and this was the first time the Nature Center was open. On our latest visit, my wife and I took my mother there to go inside the center and walk on the paths behind the Nature Center

The Nature Center itself is great for both kids and adults. Walking in we were greeted by a volunteer who was very friendly and gave us a quick overview of the Nature Center. As other people entered she would greet each group giving them a quick overview and handing out maps and the event schedule. She was eager to answer questions and give us advice on what to do.

We happened to be there at feeding time for their owl. The naturalist was also friendly and informative. She spent time telling us about the owl and what else she does at the center.

Behind the Nature Center there are a couple of miles of paths and trails. The main paths are paved making easy access for people with walkers, wheelchairs or baby carriages. Benches are located along the path. There are also wooded paths which are never busy. The wooded paths are easy to walk on with trail signs at every intersection.

I’ll be back to the Nature...

My go to for escaping the ever- growing south Florida (over*) population!

*over 1,000 new residents a DAY!! Too many for the animals- building construction wipes out scrub for the Fla scrub Jays- no standards for building... Gov desantis needs to put measures to control the destruction... oak trees (a food source for many animals) Shouldn't be planted near roads where animals could and fo get hit, maimed, and killed- destroyed wildlife=less quality of life for EVERYONE! Think about it... score you care, call the governor... I've done it... several times, but the animals need your help... if you're gonna live here, respect...

This nature center and its trails are hidden in the back of Okeeheelee but it’s very nice here. The trails around the nature center are great to walk around. I go just to enjoy the nature and see what I can find. A lot of people come here with kids because the trails have signs educating people on the nature here.

The nature center itself is also really cool. Hours they’re open are a bit wonky but it’s run entirely by volunteers so I don’t blame them. Inside they have some animals that you can sometimes find on the trails such as turtles, snakes,...

Okeeheelee is my favorite place to be 💜 Come see our animal ambassadors: raptors, turtles, snakes, deer, and more! You will learn so much about the animal ambassadors who live there, wildlife conservation, and more when you visit! There are tons of educational materials around the nature center inside and on the outdoor trails. A naturalist or volunteer can answer any question you throw their way. They also have lots of events going on (hawk walks, owl prowl, archery, school field trips, etc), so be sure to pick up a calendar when you stop by!

A beautiful place to decompress among nature and animals. Great walking trails, bird watching, and deer enclosure. The team at the Nature Center are exceptional: knowledgeable, friendly, committed to the conservation of the Florida ecosystem. The Okeeheelee Park surrounding the center is massive with lots of activity options. It's a great place to hold a picnic, let your kids run around, boat, golf, or sit someplace quiet with a book.
