Michaux is huge but I couldn’t find a specific location to review for long pine. We typically enjoy this body of water and hiking area but very much during the week and not on weekends when it is very much mobbed. It is getting very popular so sometimes hard to find a nice spot along the banks that is far enough away that you don’t feel on top of someone, usually on the far side via a short hike in from a side road. Hiking in winter and early spring offers the most solace and feeling that you are “getting away”- some weekends we count as many as fifteen or more boats; we prefer days with one or two. Wide variety of wildlife to be found, multiple species of deer, bear, snake, porcupine. Please be careful, on one occasion someone didn’t put their fire out, my children came upon it just as the embers were catching some bushes on fire. Be smart so we can all enjoy this beautiful forest- trails clearly marked obviously well...

Always love going there no matter if it's too walk, hike or take the family camping. It's a Beautiful place and well maintained. There is a beautiful Creek that you can relax by and put your feet in the grandkids can swim in...then you have the Wonderful spring fed swimming pool that you can hang out by or in. Just remember to pack your picnic meals and you even have B-Q grills you can use.all in all its a Super place to go just to get away from it all and just relax or you and just pack it all up and go...

Kathy at the district office was great and very helpful. So was Ranger Ottinger. He recommended lots of beautiful places and trails. It is a place to do things. I was told it is the most busy forest in PA. So it is great for hiking, biking, ATV's and horseback riding. If you want to rest and connect with nature there are other forests and parks more suited for that. I suggest talking to the rangers or office before making a reservation. They will give you...

Some of the most amazing and beautiful wilderness I’ve seen before. The trees are healthy and bright with green! Fuller lake and laurel lake were full of visitors. Trails are super friendly and well marked. The PA DCNR staff at the visitor center was more than helpful and nice. Gave me maps to get my journey started.

Had a peaceful hike on the Thaddeus Stevens trail. So beautiful. I literally only saw one piece of litter on the whole trail. I logged almost 7,000 steps on the "challenging" route that took is about 1 1/2hrs. The only sad part was no place to look out at the view at the top of the mountain.
