We were here for a gem, rock and fossil show. MOST of the vendors were great, very friendly and ready to share their knowledge and answer any questions asked of them. There were of course a few that I wasn't a huge fan of, ones that thought they were better than everyone around them, not willing to give an honest opinion on anything someone asked them. I met more friendly people than not, thankfully. I enjoyed the experience, overall, as it was my first gem show. Some prices were way high, there were more vendors selling their handmade crafts than anything and they wanted to dollar for them, also there was nothing in the way of food vendors (not even drinks or so much as a vending machine) which I thought odd, but I guess the people putting on the show didn't want to deal with trash or clean up.. The fairgrounds were easy to navigate as far as getting from building to building (4H) and they were all pretty close together so there wasn't a ton of excessive walking required. There didn't seem to be much parking, but I guess most of it could have been closed off if the show wasn't expecting a large turn out. But there also was not a long walk to get to the show areas for that same reason either. -We didn't have a problem finding a spot to park. There did seem to be numerous bees, but it is the time of...
Read moreWe went to the Bird fair here at the fairgrounds. Never had been before... went with my father and my daughter basically for bird toys for our African Grey. The fair exceeded my expectations! So many birds, along with other animals such as skunks, guinea pigs, bearded dragons, ferrets, bunnies and mice. That were all for sale. So many knowledgeable people. So many neat things to see and learn about. They had a food truck so you could eat lunch. Plenty of parking. $5 entry fee where they stamped your hand so you could come and go. Great way to spend the afternoon. We spent approx 90 min there and could of stayed longer! If youre in the market for a new pet like I listed above... this is definitely a fair...
Read moreI was there to man a booth for an organization I belong to so I didn't really have an opportunity to try any food or go through any of the exhibits. The parking lot was a grass field and the ground was extremely wet and soggy, and vehicles had to be pulled out by folks who had trucks with winches or tow bars. I didn't get stuck but I had to slog through mud to get to my car. Still cleaning mud off the floor mats. They should drop many dump truck loads of gravel and spread all over before next year's county fair. Also put up signs indicating where the handicap parking is. I have a handicap placard but couldn't find the reserved parking. Not fun when every step taken hurts a lot due to surgery the...
