Hester Park — Attraction in Greensboro

Good trail...pond (good fishing)....clean bathroom....quiet when not peak TIME......little Mayberry.....friendly .... good playground for kids....picnic tables w/grill for free.....shelters for rental.....volley ball court...tennis courts....horseshoes....great park rangers....work hard maintaining the park.....dog friendly....I go daily for my nature fix....update....I've been going here daily for 5 or so years......the park is basically the same as I described but I did forget to say the walking trail is appx a mile with exercise stations......it's a smaller park.....what's great about that is if you re walking alone you re always visible and your cars are visible too for the most part.....no worries .....if you re a birdwatcher in the winter the ruddies .....cormorants.....and kildeer come.....herons there year round......it's a very relaxing park. Also for seniors the Trotter Active Adult Center is there also with lots of activities. UPDATE 9-30-24. I'm still coming daily with my mini schnauzer. Mostly the same, still a great park. However I did hear that 2 cars, one in the park and one at Trotter Active Adult center got broken into same day few minutes apart this past summer. I was shocked and saddened to hear that but these days there's no place with 100% guarantee nothing bad will happen. Don't leave any valuables visible in your car. Other than that nothing has changed. It's still a great park. I'm still there daily with my little dog along with the others that come daily. Come join us. It's a small park. If you come daily you ll bump into same people and get familiar and or acquainted with them. Hence, little Mayberry. I have quite a few park...

I live right around the corner from this park, used to go here ALL the time. That was until I noticed one of the workers followed me around EVERY time I went there. Couldn't walk my dog around the pond without seeing him staring at me MULTIPLE times. Can't walk my dog around the back field without him OBVIOUSLY popping up like he's checking on us. He has talked to us one time. Stoped right in front of us in his truck(on the trail, mind you) started saying something about the dog making a mess, I held up the bag, like quit being a douche when you dont have a reason to be, he sped off up the trail. We went back a few more times after that incident, still seeing him, lurking, but not so obviously. We asked around about the archery range in the back, if it was open to public, etc. And was told, if we brought our own target we were welcome to it(by multiple parks associates). We took our bows out there like 5-10 times without issue. Even had a pair of cops come by and chat with us a while, said they'd come there and shot their bows before. NEVER HAD AN ISSUE ONE. From anyone. Until we get there one day, when he is the only one working, unload everything and start shooting, only to have him ride up so quick I could hardly grab my dog in time. Talking about how we have to leave, being so uptight we couldn't get a word in edgewise.. We went to the park office, just to realize he was the only one there. We went on home and called the parks department and filed a claim against him. This all happened a few monthes ago (April), I have yet to return...

Shelter: As I'm trying to eat dinner fighting back the flies coming out of 3 open trash cans. 🙄 The mosquitoes are tearing my feet & ankles up under the table. 😢 The city I moved up here from in South Carolina sprayed for mosquitoes. Just saying .

It sure does answer a lot of questions for me. 🤔 But still interested in seeing what's going to become of the area where they removed all the bushes on this road leading to the office.🤔 I'm curious to see what transpires there. Nothing was run past me about anything that's been going on and as we all know this is "my park" well at least that's what's on the paper I have from the judge. I said it sarcastically because Val says it like all the time. When I sent a text message to Nieca I was playing . Later in court that text message that I sent her (that in and of itself because everything is she wrote on the paper was a lie and the judge saw right through it) got me a year vacation from Val and Nieca both by way of a restraining order AKA a no contact order which I had no desire to contact either one of them so it fit my life perfectly. Thank you, your honor. Not to thankful that the system let it go that far. I mean, after all we're around each other now. Kind of seems 🤔 kind of frivolous. No ? 😉♎ It was a fabulous year.
