Alice F. Keene District Park — Attraction in Greenville

This parkis wonderful for grownups and children, alike! My husband and I are Shoomers. We found some incredibly beautiful, both edible and toxic, mushrooms! There were beautiful mushrooms everywhere. We found 2 incredibly delicious mushrooms that would tickle the palate of any and all gourmet chefs.These two mushrooms are Lion's Mane and Old Man of The Woods. Because the Spring and Summer were ,absolutely devoid of these Fungi, This was a wonderful surprise. In addition, there are clean bathrooms easily accessible to all, a playground and a large pavilion you can have Birthday 🎂🎉 parties in. There are many trails, great for people and their dogs. There are many different fields for: Football, Baseball, Soccer, Basketball Court. Still, I know that I haven't mentioned everything. I love this place. It makes meeting your friends easy as there is ample parking. We use it for the walking trails. We like the red tail, trail 3, because once around is about 1.2 miles. It's an easy measure to track when going around multiple times. Children are always using the play park area and adults are always making use of the many classes being offered there. There are other types of things like lawn games, horse shoe pits and bocce ball, 2 baseball fields, 4 soccer fields of 3 diff sizes, a flag football area, and even a space for a community garden. They offer amenities like: a pet station, benches, restrooms, picnic shelters, a center, and play equipment. I think I'd give it the full five stars if there were more trails or this one connected up...

Beautiful open space with plenty of walking room where one can lose oneself on the trails. Feeling like you're in the woods, but you're not. There's a half court basketball court, baseball fields, soccer fields, bars for playing, and building muscle. Swing sets and a decent playground for kids. There's also two rentable shelters. The park is very pet friendly.

The Downside is that the water fountains usually don't work. Part of the park is currently under construction , but it doesn't affect the above-mentioned. The soccer field always has a keep off sign. There's at least 3 fields, so I just don't understand that. Bathrooms can never be clean enough.

It's still my favorite park. I drive 20 minutes...
