Avery copp house Museum is located near Paul pasta shop near Thames river in Groton , ancient building almost more than a century old.People from Ireland lived there and helper are also from Ireland. very sweet, adorable and loving people. I saw many Authentic items there, they used old ways of cooking& cleaning. Multiple old memories of Irish people retained. Where they came from, routes of coming, business of people's, buildings they built. You can visit museum free of cost. Any type of help are welcomed. Visit this building contact them for timings. What an amazing place. I've driven by here a thousand times but finally went in recently for a near 1 1/2 hour guided tour. I've never been to a place more decorated with furniture and décor from the era it was built (1800), and that includes all the mansions in Newport, RI. The guides were very knowledgeable and took their time to address the history of the house and the family and answered any question I had with pleasure. This famous house museum is a must see in the area. Wonderful reenactments, a view of the harbor, and a house that feels like it was left untouched after the original owners left it. Because it is a "living" house museum, everything looks like it was recently used which makes the place really come alive. The staff here are dedicated to their work and it adds the finishing touches on an already incredible experience.
